Question: Can I request silver fillings!?
I don't like the white fillings because they have this terrible texture to them!. It doesn't feel like my tooth!. I have to get another filling in two weeks, so can I just request silver fillings!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally i prefer the silver fillings (amalgam) than the white!. It is stronger and stays longer not to mention cheaper!. As for health, studies show no solid or scientific evidence that it is a health hazard!. I know a lot of old people who has amalgam fillings and has no complains about it!.
Aesthetically, white is better because it doesn't look obvious that you have a filling!.
If it's not one of the front teeth, i suggest have the silver filling instead!.

I'd just stick with the white ones!. The silver ones last longer but have been thought to cause health problems and are just plain ugly/tacky!. Also, the silver ones can leak mercury if they fall out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
