How painful is it to get a filling without novacaine?!
Question: How painful is it to get a filling without novacaine!?
I am getting a cavity filled on the 31st and I want to go without novacaine because I can't stand the stuff, but how painful is it!? I have a high tolerance for pain but can I get some stories from people who have gotten cavities filled without the anesthetic!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

it depends, in general though it doesn't feel good!. If it is large it will feel really not good and if its small then you can get away with no freezing but its up to the dentist if he will agree to not give you freezing because only he can predict if it is going to be sore or ok for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
Never had it done, but generally it depends on how deep the cavity is whether they will do it without novocaine or not!. If it's a really small, shallow cavity then a lot of dentists will be happy to at least try without the injection first, but if it's a bigger cavity then most dentist will highly recommend that you have the novocaine, because if you suddenly jump because of pain and they have a drill in your mouth!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.well, you can see why you wouldn't want that to happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
