Its not bad at all! Trust me, the fear is worse than the actual procedure!. I just got two baby teeth pulled for the first time yesterday and I was scared to DEATH! But when they actually pulled them, I didnt even know!

They will sit you in the chair and explain to you what they are going to do!. (I was told that I was going to be given "Happy Water," and to my surprise- thats a fancy word for novacaine! I was FREAKED out)! First, they reclined me back and put this gel stuff on my gums, so that I wouldnt feel the shot as much!. Then I got 4 shots of novacaine!. You cant really feel the needle at all because of the gel stuff, it really wasnt bad at all! Then they left me for about!.!. 15 minutes or so, so that the novacaine would soak in and my tooth would become completely numb!. The 2 teeth I got pulled were on the bottom of my mouth, so my bottom lip and part of my chin area were all numb too! It was wild!. When they came back, they took out this tool they called the "bird beak!." Its like a beak type tool thing that they use to clamp on your tooth, and slide it back and forth!. (Since its baby teeth, it doesent take much for them to come out)!. This part is 100% painless because of the novacaine! Its really not bad at all!. You can actually hear the teeth being pulled from your mouth!. Its weird!. I didnt even feel my teeth come out, so it was a surprise when they said I was done! They will probably ask you if you want to take the two teeth home!. They'll soak it in sanitizing stuff and then they'll give it to you in a little cute box thing with a sticker!. Yay! I said sure, and I still have them right now, lol!. When you get home, you will still be a bit numb from the novacaine and you will be biting on two pieces of gauze to help stop the bleeding!. It is normal for the teeth to bleed 12-24 hours after the procedure, but everyone is different!. It is also normal to still be numb 3-6 hours after the procedure!. So dont worry!. It will feel weird, and I dont suggest eating while you are still really numb, cause you'll drool all over the place!. Eew!. I was done being numb by like 8:00!. I didnt feel any pain personally so no ibuprofen was needed!. If you have pain, take a little ibuprofen but DONT take aspirin because it thins your blood and you'll bleed more!. Also, dont suck through a straw today/tonight because it may dislodge your blood clot forming, which means- more bleeding!. You wont be able to eat hard and crunchy things the first 12-24 hours, so stick to puddings, soups, oatmeal, ice cream, etc!. Yesterday I ate a lot of pudding, and for dinner I had Chef Boyardee Ravioli all cut up!. It filled me up a lot more than the other things!. Right now im eating Oatmeal for breakfast!. Later im gonna eat something normal- yay! BTW- you may still have a little blood oozing when you go to bed- its completely normal but I would put down a towel just in case! I drooled a little blood and it was disgusting!. At least I have 20 bucks from the "tooth fairy" to hold me over!. Thats another thing- put the 4 teeth under your pillow! You'll get some cash, lol, and you might get more because you have 3 more teeth than usual!. =) Milk it! LOL

Dont worry- you'll be fine! Take it from me, I conqured my fears yesterday- now you can conquer yours!. Good luck, I promise everything will be fine! Just trust me!. =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Before you go, just make yourself think about other, more pleasant things!. Think of something you can reward yourself with afterwards !.!.!.!.focus on that!. Plan whatever it is and think about once you get it!

As far as having baby teeth removed!.!.!.honestly, it is nothing to get worked up about!. I have worked with patients of all ages and pulling deciduous teeth is about the easiest procedure you can have done!. As the tooth grows, the root "resorbs" ( for lack of a complicated explanation, it dissolves), so there is not much "holding on" to take out!.

I promise once it's over, you won't believe how easy it was and how you got yourself so worked up over what will turn out to be nothing!

Don't forget to have some pudding and ice cream on hand and GOOD LUCK! You will do great!Www@Answer-Health@Com

OK!.!.hers the facts!.!.!.you haven't a thing to worry about!.!.The DDS will no doubt put a small mask over your nose and as you breath through it you will get a little nose tickle and begin to feel very relaxed and maybe a little floaty feeling!.!.!.That will be because the mask is providing you with a relaxing gas mixed with oxygen!.!.!.often times referred to as Laughing Gas!.!.!. That will relax you and make the rest of the procedure easy to go through!.!.and that will be painless!.!.!.You may feel pressure as the teeth are being removed!.!.!.pressure like someone is pushing their finger against your cheek, but not causing pain!.!.!.Relax!.!.!.your going to do just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont Worry!

I had a baby tooth pulled before my braces TOTALLY pain free!. Relax it just feels like someone is tugging on the tooth a little!Www@Answer-Health@Com
