i have to get a root canal august 6th!. im really scared!! my dentist got most of the root out today but still!. does it hurt really bad!? thank you so much for answering!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My tooth hurt so much; but i kept putting off the root canal for over a year!. The endodontist gave me a shot; just like i'd get for a cavity being filled!. He removed the root with a little "rasping" tool that looked like a tiny nailfile!. It didn't hurt at all!. Not a bit!. When the painkiller wore off, i had no pain for the first time in 1 year!.
So it's not the root canal that hurts!. It's the agony of the tooth hurting before you get the root canal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Theres always talk about how they hurt like hell and it will be the most painful thing ever done!. I have had 2 root canals and they do not hurt at all!. Once your numb, you cant feel a thing!. I had the unfortunate incident of biting off a chunk on the inside of my lip while getting mine done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had a root canal a few years ago and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!. I think once the Novocain wore off, I took one pain pill, then I was fine!. You'll be OK!. Even if it hurts a little, at least it's temporary and your problem will be solved!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They don't hurt that bad!.
Your dentist has to give you a series of shots usually, but only the first one hurts, because by the time of the next few shots you're already numb!.

Root canals are very painful!. I had one done and it hurt like hell!. It still bothers me to this day and that was over 10 years ago that I got it done!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
