Dental X-Rays?!

Question: Dental X-Rays!?
I want to get some second opinions on work $16,000 worth of work that a local Florida dentist wants me to have!. Anytime someone suggests elaborate or extensive dental work you would want to get a second opinion or even a third!. I sent a letter to the dentist a few days ago ( 3 days) asking for copies of my x-rays and told them to please let me know in advance how much it would cost for those copies and I would pay it!. So far I haven't heard from the office and have not received the X-rays!. I need to know how long it normally takes for a dentist to give you your X-Rays ( copies ) to you!. Do they have 30 days in FL!. Seems like it's pretty petty for them to wait the full 30 days, unless they have something to hide!.

So, any CDA's or those familiar with HiPPa rules and FL laws pertaining to Florida Dentists and this subject please respond asap!. Also, if you are in the West Central area of FL, please recommend some general dentists if you can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a Certified Medical Assistant and very familiar with the HIPPA rules!.!. They are the same no matter where you go!.!. What do you need!?!?

You should have gone into the office and demanded the
x-rays!.!. Most of the time the office doesn't respond to letters they throw them away and forget!.!. You can call them and tell the you requested your x-rays in writing and see what they say!.!. My guess would be something like "we never received any letter"
Unfortunately dental work is extremely expensive

when my dentist was giving me a copy of the xrays, she just printed then out right them and it was not a problem!. why don't you call the dentist and ask when you can pick up the copy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

as far as hippa and fl laws you can search for those on the internet, look up florida state board of dentistry!. hippa mainly concerns with your privacy!. as far as getting copies of your x-rays you need to remember that the dds office has more than one thing going on and it may take the staff a few days to get your x-rays ready!. as far as a second opinion any time you feel like you need one do not doubt yourself, that is with any aspect of your life!. also if you like the dds that gave you the quote, call and ask for a consultation concerning your work, so that you and the dr have more time to discuss what needs to be done immediately and maybe discuss a game plan for work that can be spread out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
