Question about a tooth abscess?!

Question: Question about a tooth abscess!?
So Im pretty sure I have an abscess by a bad tooth!. I have crappy insurance so my dentist cant get me in for another month!. I think its an abscess b!.c!. it looks like a tiny pimple!. Its not a big one!. But regardless it has to be one!. I tried popping it and draining it, but all there was, was a little bit of blood!.
I had some penicillin left over from a previous infection, but there are only 10 pills!. They are 500mg each!. I've been breaking them in half!. So I take two 250 mg a day for 10 days!.
Will this help with the infection at all!?!? I feel really dizzy and I have a slight fever!. I tend to get panic attacks, so I dont know if Im just worrying myself sick, or if the infection is making me feel like this-even though im taking a small doseage of penicillin!. Can someone help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A gum boil is the tiny (usually pus-filled) area that forms when an infection comes to a head!. By experience--I had this pimple like sore in the same spot for 6 months!. It never hurt and really just gave me trouble in May!.

It's not a great idea to self-medicate with antibiotics if you cannot confirm that you actually have an infection!.

That's crazy that your dentist won't see you for another month!. If you have an infection you need to be seen a!.s!.a!.p!.

Let the dentist figure out whether he thinks you have an abscess and what medication you should be on!.

I think you are worrying yourself whether you have an abscess or not and also whether you are treating it the right way!.

Give yourself peace of mind and let the dentist make the choice!. The dosage that you are taking of Penicillin sounds too low to treat an acute infection!.!.!.I was prescribe Penicillin 500mg twice a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you really have an abscessed tooth, your dentist should take you in as an emergency patient!. So if you do have an abscessed tooth & he is making you wait, find another dentist!. An abscessed tooth is very painful!. The tooth would be very sensitive to cold & hot!. I'm not sure you are describing an abscess tooth!. Quit taking the penicillin, you might be feeling dizzy because you are taking the penicillin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's really bad to take antibiotics when they're not prescribed!. first off, you should have taken them all from when they were prescribed!. second, taking antibiotics for anything other than a bacterial infection, which you don't know that this is, just kills off normal flora living in your gi tract which can cause all kinds of gastrointestinal problems, or help to create antibiotic resistant bacteria that will cause serious problems for you later on down the road!. so, please stop taking the penicillin until you can see you dentist!. or if it gets much worse, to the point that you're worried about it, then go to the emergency room!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
