What is the average amount of time a person has to wear their retainers after getting their braces off!?

my ortho said wear it all day and night for about 9 monthes then go to just night and try to keep it like that for as long as possible!. but when my brother got his off he never wore it and his teeth are stillperfect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
