Urgent dental question, please help me?!

Question: Urgent dental question, please help me!?
Okay I have now asked this question 3 times but Y!A has been having some problems today!. It seems better now so here it goes:

I have a dentist appt!. tomorrow to check up on my retainer!. The problem is that I didn't wear it for the past two weeks and it doesn't fit right!. When I have it in, it causes an immense amount of pain on my back molars!. I don't know what to do about it since I don't want to get in trouble with my parents for not wearing it :X

Anything you've got to say would be helpful :)

And I know, not wearing a retainer is bad :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd say put it in right now and take some Tylenol or other pain reliever!. Leave it in until you go to the orthodontist (except to eat and brush your teeth)!. It should fit better tomorrow!. If it still hurts your back molars, talk to the ortho about it!. Unless your parents are in the room with you, they'll never know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is what happened to me!.!.!.

I was wearing my retainer all the time, and for some reason, it just started to not fit!. When I would put it in, it would fall out!. I talked to my mom, and she scheduled an appt!. with the ortho, and he just said sometimes they just stop fitting, and he tweaked it a little bit, and it fit!! So, if your ortho is like mine, he might not even care!. I thought I was going to have to get a new retainer, but nope!. =] They can usually fix it!.

Good luck!

personally i think u should jus tell ur otho that it dosnt fit or make a appointment behind ur parents back even though it hurts remember having braces hurts too unless u want to wear brases a few more years try to make ur retainers fit ask ur ortho clearly and dont leave until u feel good about ur retainersWww@Answer-Health@Com

your parents pay tons of money so you look right, and you basically flashing it down the toilet!. Wear your retainer!!!! It hurts - that means your teeth move back to their crooked position!.
You need to put on your retainer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your orthodonist will prob have to make you a new retainer cause once your teeth shift the old is kinda useless and painful, none the lessWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you just got your braces off, teeth can move pretty quickly if you haven't worn your retainer in a couple weeks!. That said, two weeks of not wearing your retainer is probably not going to be a huge problem!.

If you can get it back on, yes, it will be sore initially, but if you can tolerate it, the discomfort will go away when your teeth shift back to where they were!. Think of it like when you had braces; when you got your braces adjusted, your teeth were sore, but it went away after a couple days!. If you can wear your retainer even overnight, it will probably be fine in the morning!.

If it is too sore, I would just tell your orthodontist the truth!. S/he can probably just adjust it a bit to not hurt too much, and you should be fine!. If you try and adjust it yourself, you'll probably do the wrong thing and you'll need a new retainer; then your parents would not be happy!.

Most likely your parents won't even know about it if you can do one of the 1st two things!.

And yes, after this, remember to wear your retainer!Www@Answer-Health@Com
