Many dentists and orthodontists are not trained in how to properly treat this problem!. Which is unfortunate, considering the large number of people who have the same problem you are having!. The key is to correct what is wrong!. Mainly, the teeth and jaw joint do not line up!. This can cause the disc of cartilage between the lower jaw and base of your skull to pop out of place!. Just imagine the damage being done every time the jaw pops!. It is easy to understand why the soreness starts to be a problem!. The nerves in the face and head also have branches in the neck and upper back, which may be why you are having a pain in your neck (no pun intended)!. One of the syptoms of TMJ disorder is a tired, worn out feeling in your jaw!. This is because the TMJ is not lined up with the teeth in the most functional position possible and your muscles must work overtime to chew even the softest of foods!. Many people begin "chewing with their face!." These people are using muscles to chew, which were not designed to chew!. Bioesthetic dentists treat TMJ problems using the model of health as nature presents to us!. I recommend seeking the help of one in your area!. The link below can help with finding one!. There are TMJ specialists, just call your insurance company!. One thing they can do is look at the alignment of your jaw to see if it's off!. If it is, the specialist can create a night time device to help your jaw remain in a good place as you sleep!. DO NOT buy an OTC mouth guard!. In most cases, they can make matters worse!. If it's unaligned properly, they have something called Invisiline now, which is virtually invisible and is better than braces!. Also, try a pillow that applies more neck support!. Many TMJ cases are due to poor posture and sleep positioning!. Good luck, I know it sucks!. Hang in there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I saw a chiropractor and had physical therapy!. They can give you some good facial exercises to do during the day!. Helped me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
