Has anyone been given Nitrus before (or some sort of gas that makes you sleep?)?!

Question: Has anyone been given Nitrus before (or some sort of gas that makes you sleep!?)!?
I'm not sure of the gas specifically, but tomorrow I have to have some healthy teeth pulled (bicuspeds!. No, no cavities, I need them removed for my braces), and I'm going to be knocked out for it!. I think they're using nitrus (that's what my mom said anyways), but how does it work!?

Also, how much pain can I expect to be in!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nitrous oxide is a gas that you inhale!. It will not make you fall asleep, although some people will fall asleep due to profound relaxation!. It aids in decreasing anxiety and increasing your pain threshold!. In other words, it will take more to make you feel pain!. It's a great adjunct for nervous patients!. I've tried it myself in dental school and it feels great!. Just make sure you breathe through your nose and concentrate on taking slow deep breaths!.

Your dentist will numb you before the extractions and all you should feel is a lot of pressure!. There is no pain!. If you feel sharp pain, you can tell your dentist to stop so that he/she may give you more numbing medicine!. Also, you can take deep breaths through your nose!.

In response to one person who said that removing teeth for orthodontic reasons is "old school," I must say that many orthodontists are steering from bicuspid extractions; however, there are cases that warrant extractions!. It all depends on the patient's skeletal profile and extent of crowding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is probably nitrous oxide, which is also called "laughing gas"!. Some people tend to want to laugh under its influence, but the dose level usually used today isn't enough to cause that effect for most people!. I've had nitrous oxide several times for dental procedures!. It always relaxed me and it made my legs feel extremely heavy!. It worked great for me, but my last dentist charged $ 35 extra for using it, so I stopped asking for it thereafter!.

You should feel little or no pain during the procedure, but afterwards, after the anesthetic wears off, you may have some pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ya it's just nitrous oxide (the same thing they use in racing cars to make the cars go really fast in Fast and the Furious)!. It's also known as laughing gas and ya you'll pretty much be knocked out and won't feel anything and there's really no pain from that so you have nothing to worry about!. I've had teeth pulled for braces as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might want to see another orthodontist!.!.!. you don't necessarily need your teeth pulled!.!.!. the DDS I work for expands the bones ( your upper or lower jaw ) to make room for them!.!.!. Pulling them is old school thinking!. But since you are having it done tomorrow, its kinda late to look for another guy!. Nitrous is harmless!.!.!.!. its great actually!. It won't PUT you to sleep but it will relax you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it just makes you fall asleep and you dont feel any pain i had to have teeth pulled for braces to cause they came in wrong and to early so dont worry its just so you dont feel any thingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Nitros will be given thru an iv in your arm!. You will just go to sleep and feel no pain!. It isn't a big deal and no reason to be scared!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you probably won't feel anything plus they will numb you up, you'll feel kinda loopy and sleepy but totally relaxed!. Don't worry its kinda fun! good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
