Question: Help, Very Scared Of Dentist!!!!!!!!!!!?
I have 4 cavities! And getting two done in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!! am totally freaked out!!!!!!! I don't think i can use any meds to help me calm down only 13!!!!!! Plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want advise to not be so freaked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plz no sarcatic comments, this may sound silly to you but is my real fear! help!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dentists are very NICE people, and they HATE to hurt anyone, especially kids and teenagers!. Get your mom to buy you some lavender and chamomile tea and drink that before you go !.!.!. they are both very calming, and you may even get a bit sleepy!. Be assured that the dentist will give you a 'local' anaesthetic before he gives you the shot to numb you, and if you can still feel ANYTHING when he's working, he'll stop and give you another shot before he goes on!. Talk to the dentist before /she works on you, tell him or her that you are afraid of dentists !.!.!. the dentist will do everything possible to make this experience easier for you !.!.!. think 'good thoughts' and think about your teeth!. You have only four cavities, and the dentist is working on only two at this next appointment !.!.!. you'll already be halfway done when you walk out, and the next appointment should give you good healthy teeth again!. If necessary, tell the dentist you want a 'prize' at the end of your appointment !.!.!. at the very least you'll get a new toothbrush, which you should use at least twice a day, every day, and floss your teeth after both brushings, so you won't have any more cavities to worry about!. Start brushing TODAY, too !.!.!. and form good habits now, so you won't have no teeth when you are older!. I know !.!.!. I have no teeth !.!.!. not because I didn't brush, but because I got sick (mono) as a teenager, got terrible gingivitis (TRENCH MOUTH) from that, and after I had a heart attack all of my teeth 'imploded' on me !.!.!. they fell apart and had to be pulled!. If you are 13, i think you can handle some pain!. It really doesnt hurt that much, TRUST me!. I have gotten 5 filled before without medicine when i was 14, and it was no problem!.

Be very honest with your dentist--this fear is very common, and they are trained to deal with it!.
And yes, they can give you low doses of gas through a mask to relax you!. Ask if you can bring an Ipod--many of them allow it!.

i had some fillings when i was 8 iwas scared to death also!!!!!! i had my mom come in their so i could squessed her hand, but i didn't have to!!! they will give you some medicine it is kinda like gettingyour teeth cleaned!!!! my mom gave me a prize for not screaming and fuzzing!!! ask your mom to do that for you!!!!!!! but today i got braces and they were a 1000 times worse and tomorrow i getting 4 teeth pulled now that is scary and i am 15!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Usually the dentist has a TV in the room so if you're fortunate enough to have that then just sit back relax and enjoy!.
If not just close your eyes and relax it'll be over before you know it!

If you are nervous then i advise that you tell the dentist and they might be able to give you an injection in your gum or they might be able to give you some gas but the gas make you drousy after it is doneWww@Answer-Health@Com
well im the kind of person that loves the dentist, until it comes 2 getting cavities filled!. if i were u id get Novocain!. thats my opinion srry if that didnt help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
dont panic, we all are scared of dentists (even me though am a dentist lol), but now local anesthesia is like magic u wont feel anything during work, just needle stink which may be 0 pain as well, go aheadWww@Answer-Health@Com
