My gums were just beginning to show signs that they were beginning to show signs of receeding and my dentist did something to them that was called 'cauterizing' the gums!. This was done 10 years ago, approximately, and ever since then I have not been told that my gums are receeding abnormally or at all for that matter!. I do not know much about this process but I do know that he was an expensive and respected dentist and other dentists since then that have seen the fillings he did have said that he did nice fillings!.
Ask your dentist about using an electric toothbrush as I had to switch to an electric toothbrush because I was brushing too often and too hard with a toothbrush!. Aslo make sure the brush on it is the extreme soft one!.!.!.and I was told not to brush hard just run the toothbrush over your teeth!.!.!.maybe research this on the net!. I found Oral B toothbrushes nice!. I was also advised to use a mouthwash by Oral B because it is better for your gums because there is no alcholhol in it and it kills bacteria in your mouth!. I was told that alchohol in a mouthwash - and apparently many mouthwashes have alchohol in them - dries out your mouth and this is not so comfy for the gums!. I am not a dentist but found that this advise that I received helped my gums and teeth!. I use Sensidyne toothpaste all the time!. I stopped brushing like 5 and 6 times a day too!. It was too much for my gums and mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can fix it!.!.
You can get what's called a gum graft!.!.which is where some kind of doctor (who has a really big word that I can't remember!.!.!.it's like perodontist!.!.or something!.!.!.) cuts off part of the gum on the roof of your mouth and sews it wherever it has receded in the front!.!.
It's considered a surgery and is very expensive, so if it's really, reeeeeally bad, like it might give you aids or something, you should probably consider it, but if it's just a little bit, then don't worry about it!.

Yes! It is happening to me too!. I'm not sure what really causes it- I think it just happens!. My dentist told me he could fix it but I'm not sure how they do it or how much it costs!. I just know that it is fixable and you'll definately want to have it done when your nerves become exposed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can't!. Once it recedes it stays that way!.

Get some fluoride gel from your dentist!.

"Omnii Gel" is the brand I got!.

This extra fluoride will stop the exposed root from
becoming sensitive to cold drinks!. which, believe me, can
really hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

KATIE,
IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS BRUSH GENTLY WITH A SOFT TOOTHBRUSH!. ASK YOUR DENTIST TO PRESCRIBE GELKAM EXTRA FLUORIDE GEL TO HELP KEEP THIS LOCAL RECEDING TOOTH FROM BECOMING SENSITIVE TO COLD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
