Answers:
If you have what is called irreversible pulpitis, your only choices are getting a root canal or having the tooth extracted!. If it is reversible pulpitis, then taking ibuprofen for 5-7 days should help calm the pulp, (nerve), down and allow the pain to disappear!. It sounds like the trauma has caused the nerve to die and indicates the need for a root canal!. I would start taking the medication prescribed and talk further to your dental office about the treatment options your dentist is recommending!. Always do whatever is needed to save your teeth!. While we can replace them if lost, (extracted), the replacement partial, denture, or bridge, is never as good as the original tooth!.
Good luck and start the meds and treatment as soon as you can!. Doing both is what is needed in your case to stop the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
