Alright, Tomorrow I am getting one of my back teeth extracted, I went for my consultation at the oral surgeon's, because yesterday they tried to pull it, however they couldnt get me numb, so everytime they tried to pull I felt everything and they had to stop!.
For me, they're going to give me laughing gas, and an IV, and I'm going to be asleep!.
I'm not phobic about the dentist, they just couldnt get me numb!.
How long will I be asleep!?

Hello!.!.!.Once the IV is in place and if the DDS tells you to count backwards from 100 as he injects the anesthetic (sedation)!.!.!.I doubt you will remember anything past "99"!.!.!.!.Depending on the difficulty in extracting the tooth and whether or not sutures need to be placed following the extraction, you will be sedated between five and ten minutes!.!.!.!.You will wake up feeling a bit light headed and possibly like you just want to take a long nap!.!.!.Your jaw will feel thick, but the DDS will give you an Rx for pain control!.!.!.You'll not be bale to drive for at least five hours so have some with you to drive you!.!.!.!.The DDS will give you a list of post-op instructions!.!.!.!.Follow them "Exactly" and you'll do just fine!. They will give you IV sedation so you will be really sleepy and you won't remember it as sedation works as an amnesic!.
My boyfriend had this done last week and said it was fine, didn't feel a thing and was just a bit sleepy afterwards!.
Make sure you have someone to look after you for 24 hours while the sedation wears off!.
You won't be unconcious, like when you are under anaesthetic, just nicely sleepy!.
Make sure you have regular painkillers after the extraction and rinse out with salt water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will not fall asleep in the dental office You will be superlatively drowsy!. Just take care that someone drives you back home and stay in for 24 hrs!. You would want to sleep on reaching home only because you will be drowsy!. Once you wake up you may have a lil pain but manageble!.!. Eat something and stay at home!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i had a lower wisdom tooth pulled a few years back!. they put a mask on me and i was out!. not sure that they did any i!.v!. cant remember that part!. all i remember is them waking me up and me telling them no i hadn't gone to sleep yet!. it seems like an instant and your done!. i felt drunk and they help me to a recovery area where i woke up more!. i did have some pain/soreness in my jaw!. my tooth did not come out in one piece which makes you wonder how in the heck they get em out anyways!.!.!.!.!.!.i had stitches for about a week and just took advil when it started hurting!. no biggie!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.good luck :o)Www@Answer-Health@Com
