Braces. Help!?!
Question: Braces!. Help!!?
I have to get braces and I'm so scared I'm crying!. I know the process, but I am still REALLY scared that they will make my teeth worse, or that I won't be able to stand the pain!. I don't like people touching my teeth (since a "suprise" tooth-pulling at the dentist that I wasn't ready for), please help!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it makes me mad that so many people just talk about how much "pain" it causes to get braces when it really isnt that bad!.!.!.cause i dont want you to feel so freaked out!
first of all!.!.!.braces will make your teeth ten billion tinmes BETTER!. itll take a while of course, but youll realize so many changes in your teeth that make them so perfect, like things you never even noticed before you got your braces!. in the beginning, if ound that while they were adjusting stuff and if have to wait in between my appointments, id think "what are they doing to my teeth!?!?!?!!?!!?" for example!.!.i had a gap on my bottom row!.!.!.then they closed it up!.!.!.then after the next appt it was back again! but dont let this scare you: they are very well trained and educated professionals who know what they are doing!. basically just let them do their thing and it will all work out in the end!. try not to stress majorly over something that you really have like no control over!
the pain!.!.you cant really call it pain!. it hurts yes!.!.!.but then its more discomfort than anything!. its nothing that some tylenol or advil cant help! of course, stick to the super soft or liquid things to eat if you get that pain!. youll only have the pain after appts!.!.it wiill not last the entire length of time in between your appointments! sometimes, you wont even feel it! like for ahwile after my appts, i never had any discomfort whatsoever!. other times i did!. you get used to the feeling and how to deal with it!. it will only lasta few days!
ive never been abig fan of people who work on my teeth!. when i was younger i had a monster for a dentist which scared me every single time i ahd to go!. then i switched dentists so now i love mine! hes slow, patient, explains things to me, and is very caring and aware of how his patient feels and their likes/dislikes
soooo befor eyou get your braces on, your ortho will probably aks how youre feelign adn just TELL THEM how youre feeling: youre really nervous!.!.!.you dont really like people touching your teeth!.!.!.youre scared about the pain!.!.!.
if you havea good ortho, there should not be any unpleasant "surprises" anymore!. oh yeah, and when i got mine on my teeth never hurt afterwards until my next appt or something!. but for others it did!. so itll vary!.

getting braces on does not hurt!.
i had them for 2 years and i reccommend right when you get them on take tylenol(or something so your teeth dont hurt as much later on in the day) and eat!. because im not gonna lie, your teeth are gonna feel pulling and it will probably hurt!. thats why taking something like tylenol is key :)
they will feel really akward on you at first and smiling will feel weird but it will get a lot better as time moves on!. you will get really comfortable with them and sometimes forget you have them!.
they wont mess up your teeth, the purpose is to make them all straight and alligned!. also, if your teeth hurt after you get your wires tightened, eat something soft like soup or a pb&j or something!.
last but not least, also as time moves on, the pain will get lower and lower so like 6 months towards the end, my teeth didnt even hurt anymore!.

My husband didnt get braces when he was young!. He hated his teeth and is now 35 with braces!. As far as making your teeth worse!.!.!.NO WAY!.!.He has had his on a little over a year and the results are amazing!. His teeth were really bad and they had to pull one to make room for the others but his teeth are going to be beautiful!. The pain!.!.!.He has some when they turn the wires to tighten and start the shifting process every couple of months but it only lasts a couple of days!. Tylenol helps!. Also, depending on your age!.!.!.the bad part is the foods that you cant have!. Popcorn, gum, hard candy, etc!.!.!.If your young and your parents are paying for it!.!.!.go for it and take care of them!.!.one day you will be so thankful!.!.!.if not you will be 35 and insurance wont pay for it because it is considered cosmetic and then your stuck with a $7000 bill!.!.!.yuck!.!.!.Chill out!.!.!.and GOOD LUCK!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's going to be okay!. I've had braces since last october and I had to have surgery on my mouth as part of the process!. Just remember, braces don't really hurt, you'll get used to them after about 2 days and after about a month my friends were commenting on how straight my teeth looked!. I personally think braces are awsome and trust me, my best mate kept saying bad stuff about braces and was worried about them but they are actually like the best inventions in the world! lol i could talk forever about bracesWww@Answer-Health@Com
There's nothing to be afraid about!. When I found out that I was getting braces, I was scared too!. All my friends told me it hurt when they got thiers on, so I was scarred!. But when I got mine on, it didn't hurt a bit!. Braces definetely WILL NOT make your teeth worse!. Just trust me!. Don't be so scared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
get the braces Emily!.!.!.you will be glad you did! my daughter had crooked teeth & after 3yrs train tracks top & bottom!.!.!.she has got the most beautiful teeth!. she had many tears too!.!.!.but it passed!

It's okay! you really don't need to worry!. I recently got my braces off!.!.!.so i know all the experiences!. The process kind of hurts, but the day after you get them on your mouth is really sore, so you get ice cream! and braces really do work and now my teeth are pretty much perfect!Www@Answer-Health@Com
dnt worry bout it i got braces like 6 months ago and im telling the process hurts but in the end it's for ur own good it mite mke u look abit differant and that but it really is for ur own good u'll and u'll get used to them and that but good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
for the first week you have them take an advil a day or so because it will cut down on the pain!. and try to eat soft food!. it'll be easier on your mouth if you doWww@Answer-Health@Com
I was scared too!. I thought it would hurt way more then it did!. It was just a little bit tender when i ate hard things!. It isn't bad at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
