Question: Can you go to the dentist by yourself at 16 if your an expectant mother!?
i need to go because i have terrible cavities and my mom won't take me to the dentist!. on top of it i'm pregnant! and the cavity is going into my gums!! please let me know asap!! And i have medicaid also if that helps answering my question!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should have a parent or guardian with you but bottom line is someone needs to be responsible and since you are pregnant that person is you!. The problem is that an infection in your teeth may affect the health of your baby because the infection will be like toxins in your whole body!. Unfortunately they won't take x-rays because of the risk to the baby however if they see signs of an infection they will tkae the x-rays because the risk of letting it go untreated is more to you and to the baby than the risk of getting an x-ray takenWww@Answer-Health@Com
No dentist will take you unless they have permission from your mom!. they will tell your mom to sign a consent form!. and if she says you are OK to come by your self then the dentist will not have any problem!. you should've went to a dentist before your pregnancy!. Now its OK but it will be hard for you to find a dentist because they are afraid to take x-rays on you!. during pregnancy you should take care of you teeth much as possible because or else you will get alot of cavities since the baby needs all the protein!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
first of all, cavities don't "spread"!. They could get bigger but it takes time!. So just ask your guardian if he/she can take you!. If not, call up the dentist's office & ask them if you can go "unattended!." I think it varies from office to office!.
