Can a long time of teeth grinding cause pain in root canals?!

Question: Can a long time of teeth grinding cause pain in root canals!?

Good question!. From my experience, I haven't noticed this happening!. On the other hand, teeth that have had root canals are much more brittle than normal teeth, and when you grind, you but excessive amounts of pressure and forces on your teeth!. So that is not a good combination!.

If you do grind, you definitely want to look into getting a nightguard if you don't have one already!. They are best made at a dental office, but you can get makeshift ones over the counter, which essentially do the same thing (but are probably not as comfortable since they won't fit as well)!.

If you are having pain in a tooth that had a root canal, you should get it checked!. There are a variety of reasons that root canals fail other than grinding (i!.e, fracture, extra canals, leaky restoration, accessory canals, insufficient fill, etc)Www@Answer-Health@Com
