I am a Certified Dental Assistant, which mean I assist the dentists to work with them in whatever they are doing, because it takes 4 hands to do fillings, extractions, root canals, surgery, etc!. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of talented dentists in my 18 years of dentistry!. I can tell you that I have seen dentists earn anywhere from beginning at $ 75,000 a year, up to $250,000 a year!. It all depends on their level of skill, experience, location, type of dentistry they specialize in, and amount of hours they want to work each week!. Most dentists choose to work 4 days a week, with long weekends!. However, as the boss, they can decide any schedule they like!.
It is a great profession, very stable and profitable for those dedicated to their craft!. We all have teeth, so we will always need dentists!. Can't outsource our dental care to China !
It's a great job, you work in a pleasant climate, don't work holidays or weekends or nights, and you are helping people improve their quality of life!.
