I got my wisdom teeth out when I was 15!. It takes about an hour!. They give you anesthesia and then you wake up before you even know that you went to sleep!. They give you the shots while you are still awake, but they give you nitrous oxide so you feel a little poke, but you are too out of it to care!. Your mouth stays numb for about a day!. The pain starts a day or two later, and it lasts up to a week!. They give you pain killers, so it is not a big deal!. The only time it really hurts is if you wake up in the middle of the night and the pain killer has worn off!. They will also give you antibiotics to take!. The best part is that you have to eat soft foods, so you get to eat a lot of ice cream!. You should be able to eat normal food again within 1-2 weeks!.

Get the surgery done now so that you don't have to deal with it during school or next summer!. I am glad that I got it over with last year, or else I would be doing it now!. Any other questions I am glad to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got mine pulled when I was 15 it is easier to get them done when you are younger because if you wait until you are older your wisdom teeth could force your other teeth to be pushed together leading to braces!.!.!.look at it this way you get to eat all the ice cream you wantWww@Answer-Health@Com

I was about14 or 15 when mine were pulled!. Because they were impacted my mom chose for the procedure to be done in a hospital under anesthesia!. It was an overnight stay and I had no problems at all!. Not even swelling!. My sister however swelled up like a balloon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

MEEEEE!!!!!! getting mine out n im 14Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was 14 when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and I'm 34 now, so it's not unheard of!.
In my case, I had a very messed up mouth!. I needed 4 permanent teeth removed and orthodontics to fix my teeth!. There was no room for the wisdom teeth to come in, so they had to be removed!.
As for whether it's better to get them pulled when you are younger!.!.!. That's on a case by case basis!. For some people, that's not the case!. For me, they had to come out early, or else bigger problems would occur!.
I'd recommend 2nd opinion!. Also, the Oral Surgeon will determine for certain if they need to come out!. Did you dentist refer you to one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am 18 and I got mine out this morning!. I know a lot of people who got them out at 13,14,15 years, that is very common, dont worry!.

The earlier the better, because the tooth isnt fully formed and the nerve isnt formed either, so there is less bone to remove and less pain!.

When I went in they gave me laughing gas to relax, then an IV that knocked me out in minutes!. I woke up an hour later in another room!.

I was still dazed, but no pain!. The numbness lasted a few hours, and I was able to take my pain pills before it wore off, so I never felt any pain even after!.

You dont remember the surgery AT ALL, that is probably the easiest part, any pain/discomfort comes later!.

I know Im older than you, but not by much, and its all the same

Good luck! and dont worry!

Oh and there are usually 1-2 shots per tooth, but you are asleep so you dont feel it!. All you may feel is the IV, but they give you that after the gas, so i didnt feel it!.

I hate shots, but I had no problem with this, never felt a needle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
