I'm have been wearing a retainer for about 3 years!. At the beginning it was very uncomfortable and I had trouble talking!. I had trouble pronouncing the s most of the time!. I eventually got used to them after one week!.

You're not alone because this happens to everybody in the beginning when they start wearing retainers!.
I'm sure that in time you'll eventually get used to them!. At least it's not as bad as fixed braces!.

I find that reading a book or magazine aloud is useful because it helps you adapt to the retainers and help you talk better with them!.

I hope everything works out for you!. Take care always!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got retainers a year ago and it's hard at first, but honestly, soon talking with them becomes second nature, and it just feels weird with them off! It took me a couple of days at most to get used to them, but my friend was fine at talking the next day, so it varies with everyone I think!. Don't worry, by the end of it all your teeth will be perfect, so it's worth having a lisp for a few days :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister got braces she couldn't talk well for about 3-5 days!. She got her retainer and she had trouble talking 1-2 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
