i got my braces two weeks ago & the aching pain stayed for just about a week!. 2 ease the pain, take a couple of advils & eat soft foods such as soup, mashed potatoes & scrambled eggs!. U'll get used 2 chewing foods again in about two weeks!. Ur orthodontist should be able 2 answer all of ur questions at your appointment so make sure u ask everything u have questions about!. And please eat prior to ur appointment, or u'll regret it!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
A common misunderstanding of braces is that it doesn't hurt when you actually get them on!. It only hurts afterward because your gums aren't used to having the metal inside the mouth and your teeth aren't used to the wires moving them around!. The pain will probably last a couple of days, maybe some very minor pain afterward!. Each time you get your wires changed your teeth will probably hurt for only one day because it's a thicker wire and more power!.
My suggestion would be to put wax on your braces because they can cut your gum when you first get them on for the day!. I had wax on each of my brackets when I first got them!.
Also, you can help the pain by eating really soft foods, like pudding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hahaha i'm getting mine off on tuesday!! make sure u take medicine and eat b4 u go cause when u get them on they won't hurt until u eat ur teeth will b sore so eat b4 u go so that u aren't hungry for a while afterwards and when u do get hungry i would suggest eating either soup, smoothies, soft bread, ice cream and stuff like that for about a week!. cause ur teeth will hurt!.it'll b like that for maybe a week!. sry it'll be kinda painful for a week every time u go to 4 an appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Braces will hurt with a dull ache for a few days each time they are adjusted!. Some braces do not get adjusted by the Orthodontist, but instead retighten themselves automatically, these might hurt less!.
Advil is always a good choice for aches and pains!.

My braces hurt for about a week, VERY badly!. They cut my cheeks to shreds and I couldn't even touch my tooth without howling!.
I'd recommend a LOT of painkillers!. Take them before you get your braces!. The pain will start fading in a week, and the cuts last for about two!.

well i had braces for 4 years and the weren't that bad just hurt the first day they are on and maybe the day after!. they usually give you some numbing stuff and that helps!. when they tighten your braces it usually hurts for one day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i got braces like 6 months ago and hurt for about 5 days
take tylenols and only eat soft not chewy foods like smashed potatoes and stuff like that
