My tooth is dark, now what?!

Question: My tooth is dark, now what!?
I got hit in the mouth and my front tooth hurt and was loose for a while!. Got X-rays at the dentist and he said there was trama and to watch for infections!. Now the tooth has turned darker then the rest!. It isnt super dark but definetly off!. I read this could be from excess blood being pumped in to repair the damage or because the root is dying!. Is there any chance it will repair itself and turn white again!? Hoping to hear that somebody has had this happen and the tooth managed to repair itself!. I am really upset over this, i had nice teeth and now my smile is ruined!.!.!. i dont have insurance either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Teeth turn dark after trauma for the following reason: the nerve (inside the tooth) becomes inflammed and swollen and then the nerve dies!. Your tooth turned dark because the blood inside the tooth contains hemoglobin which carries iron!. The iron seeps into your tooth and discolors it!. It can turn any color from brown to a deep purple blue!. When this happens the tooth needs a root canal then it needs to be bleached internally!.
You should see a root canal specialist , they usually don't charge more than 50-100$ for the initial consult and the root canal is usually around 1000$!. The bleaching procedure is usually around 100-150$!.
If you don't do the root canal, the tooth may keep getting darker and you may risk losing the tooth!.!.!.!.!.it is much more costly to wait!.!.
if money is an issue, you may want to go to a university dental student clinic that charges less, but talke much longer to get it done!.

A pity you couldn't afford to have fixed it then and there!. I have a feeling the nerve died!. When a tooth discolours like that, that is usually the reason!. You do have to watch that infection doesn't arise!. It can destroy all your other teeth and not only that infections are quite serious!.!.!.they can even kill you if they start to spread!.

It's a pity there aren't any free clinics!. You'd be better off getting it pulled if that is your only option and replacing it some day!.

You have a dentist appointment this week!. With any luck he can do a root canal and save your tooth and then you will have to CAP it---that is providing there is no other damage!.

If it's still lose though it might require surgery of some sort to make it more stable!.

PS if you do get a root canal, do get the tooth capped as soon as you can afford to!. A tooth without a nerve becomes brittle and can crack and break off and if it's damaged enough you may not be able to cap it later!. So sooner is better!. It's good for life after that and no one will ever know it isn't your own tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
