Question: I can drink soda with braces on!?
Okay all of my friends even my cousin who has braces can't drink soda because i guess it will eat away at the glue and braces!.!.!.Is this true!? Because my orthodontist said i could have soda!. What kind of beverages would be good to drink when having braces!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there, my dentist told me NO soda!. So I've been drinking water, diet cordial and mineral water!.!. I think its because sugar could get trapped between places and cause cavities and that would be no fun!. Do not drink coke, if your going to drink any softdrink steer clear of coke as it will stain your teeth!. If I have any I drink sprite because it won't stain my teeth, and then I brush or use mouthwash straight away!.!. Good luck xoxoWww@Answer-Health@Com
I wouldn't say it would eat at the glue or braces!. soda has lots and lots of sugar!. the biggest concern would be the lack of flossing and brushing!. As long at you brush and floss every night and brush in the morning you should be okay!. and brush after drinking the soda or at least rinse with water!. its the plaque you need to be concerned about it can cause alot of damage if not flossed and brushed off!. the last thing you want is to have your braces removed and have to get alot of fillings done!. Both my kids had braces, and both of them drink soda!. I don't know where people are getting their information from!. While you may want to limit it because it's not the healthiest thing to drink, it will not harm your braces!. Just make sure you brush your teeth very well after meals or at least twice/day, and use a fluoride rinse once at night!. Keep your teeth brushed and clean, that is most important!. you can, but you need to make sure you at least wash your mouth out afterwards!. soda has mad sugar in it, so its not really recommended even without braces!.!.!.but i drink soda all the time!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
