A lot of times when you have braces you will also have gum or gingival overgrowth!. Sometimes patients with braces have to have a Gingivectomy which is the removal of extra gum tissue!. It is pretty common!. Usually it is performed by an oral surgeon!. Just make sure to keep brushing your teeth and gums well!. Even if they bleed, that is okay!. It means you are doing a good job of cleaning them and that's what they really need!. The procedure I mentioned before usually isn't done though until the end of ortho treatment!. make sure ur wire from the braces is not touching ur gums because when ur teeth move the wire moves 2 so it could sometimes get infected[gum] i am currenting wearing braces now so i know what it feels like!.!.but contact ur dentist as early as possibleWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tell your ortho and ask him!.
