Answers:
there are two handpeices (or dental drills)
1!. highspeed (the one with water)
2!. slow speed (the one with no water can be described as 'bumpy')

the 'pointy' tip at the end of the handpiece is called a bur!.
These burs come in different shapes and sizes to drill, shape and clean the tooth!.

The highspeed needs water as it is used to drill into the tooth!. water cools the bur down!.
The slow speed has no water because it is used for polishing and cleaning out the tooth!. no water is generally neccessary!.

Unfortunatly the drills make alot of noise lol because of the bur spinning lol!. There is nothing to be scared of lol!. I think most people are scared of the fact the dentist will miss the tooth or something!.
But believe me the dentist doesn';t want that either!! they are very careful, accurate and patient Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its noisy like any other drill and the needle is very small!. Don't worry ask for a pain killer like novocaine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
