What can I do about my teeth?!

Question: What can I do about my teeth!?
My teeth are a real mess, they forever have white covering on them and bleed whenever this is removed as it seems to cover the bleeding!. Whenever I brush them the gums under them bleed heavily and I assume that this is probley gum disease on quite a large scale!. I know I don't brush enough but it's got to the point that I feel if I brush too heavily I'll end up weakening my teeth and losing them so I'm really stuck for what to do!.

My brother just returned from the dentist where he was told his teeth are too dirty for him to touch and that has got me very worried because he brushes everyday and for alot longer than I usually do, so I have no idea what he would say to me and therefore I want to try and sort out what I can with them before my next appointment in September!.

What can I do to bring my teeth up to scratch abit more!? I haven't brushed my teeth regularly for months now and they are really in decline so If it turns out I have a gum disease what will I have to sort it out!? Even if that does mean going to the dentist!.

Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Also
To try and keep your teeth clean and healthy, drink more water or anything thats not fizzy, that can rot your teeth and if you do drink fizzy brush afterwards (it helps) brushing after meals is a good idea and defo in the morning and evening for 3 mins (2mins is recommended)
Using mouthwash, and flossing is a great way to get rid of plaque and stuff (some that you cant see)

Hope it helps, good luck for september!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't understand - the dentist won't touch them because they're too dirty!!? Isn't it the dentists job to clean them!? :S

You need to see a dentist who will clean all the plaque away and you can start from scratch!. Your gums will bleed initially when plaque is removed but this will settle down!. If they are bleeding there is a problem - don't stop cleaning them!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get a good tooth brush, baking soda, floss and a good mouth wash!.

the white hard stuff is built up plaque, you should get rid of it all!. then floss between your teeth, and then brush!. when you put the tooth paste on the brush dip it in the baking soda, it wont taste nice but will make them whiter!. then rinse with mouth wash for 30 seconds!.

make sure that you use a tooth paste with fluorite in it!.

do it morning and night!. and if you can after you eat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will need to see a periodontist!.!.!.!.you have severe periodontal disease!.!.!.!.!.the white on your teeth is plaque and there most likely is a severe buildup of tarter underneath your gumline!.!.!.!.flossing, brushing, and rinsing with mouthwash are daily care methods for good oral hygieneWww@Answer-Health@Com

As someone with poor dental health, I can relate!. However, my poor dental health is from poor genes and not poor maintenance!. The key to getting your teeth better is even though it hurts, brush at least twice a day with a good manuel brush!. The new electronic ones are awesome but if your teeth are in bad shape they are too rough!. I recommend one of the OralB brushes!. Next you'll want to start flossing!. Even though your gums will bleed you are getting rid of the bacteria that is living in between your teeth and at the gum line!. Next start using one of the new "teeth defense" mouth washes like Listerine's "Tooth Defense" or ACT's version!. You'll also want to make sure to cut out as much of the soda as possible and drink plenty of water!. I'm down to one soda a day!. Also if you smoke, this will not help either!. In September, be honest with your dentist and let him/her know that you have not been doing your best at keeping up your dental health but with his/her help you will get back on track!. If your dentist tells you that your teeth are too dirty to clean, find another dentist!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
