Question: How long does dental numbing last!?
I just got home from the dentist!.
& they had to give me 2 shots of numbing!.
it's been about an hour and a half!.!. and i can only move one side of my mouth!.
when i smile!.!. its a half smile!.
how long does it last!?

It really depends on what meds they used and how much of it and how fast your body normally processes the meds!. There are some "caines" that can last 12 hours but typically they use xylocaine which usually lasts 1-2 hours!. If they used xylocaine with adrenaline (to help prevent bleeding) it lasts longer becasue the adrenaline has slowed the blood flow to the area and the caine doesn't clear as fast!. Anyways!.!.!. usually after a couple of 3 hours you should be clearing up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The amount of recovery time depends on how much "freezing" that the doc gave you!.!.!.It was explained to me that the uppers take less time for recovery thant the lower jaw!.!.!.and that was straight from the doc himself!. If you have had 2 shots of numbing, that seems like a double whammy to me!.!.!.it will take more time to get back to normal again!. Or if you had the shots on the lower jaw then that again will take longer to get back to normal!. I have taken the whole afternoon to regain my normal feeling sometimes!. We all have our own systems as well, that determine what amount of time it will take to regain our normal feeling!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
