Question: Getting my braces off
im getting them off next friday, but only my top teeth, which sucks cause i want them all off!.
anyways, my question is does it take as long as it did to put them on and when would i start wearing a retaner, that day or in couple weeks !?

oo congratulation i know how it feels to finally take ur braces off!.
Taking off ur brace only take about 15 min!. so dont worry its defintely like when u put them on!.
Ur not even going to feel it!. and dont worry they took my top braces off first!. But its the same chill!. Ur friends are still going to be siked to c u with out a half metal mouth lol!.
After taking off ur braces they will put this type of goo in ur mouth to make ur retainer!. after prob!. a week theyll give u a retainer

Wow, I dont know what my dentist did wrong, but these people all say 5-15 minutes!.!. mine were more like an 45 minutes to an hour! (though I guess you just have top row!.!.)!.!.!.
Basically they put this thing on that pops them off!.!. It doesnt HURT but it feels like alot of pressure!.!. LIke they're about to break your teeth because it pushes your tooth and pulls the bracket!. So it SORT of hurts but its more just uncomfortable!. That part should take around 15-20 minutes!. Then you'll have all their pieces of sharp glue left of your teeth which they will try and scrape off!.!.!. That feels absolutely NASTY, and they usually don't get it all on the first try!.!. You have to make sure to ask them to scrape the rest off at the next few appointments (i've had mine off for two years and I still have some glue on a few teeth!.!. and its really sharp at the front and cuts my lips sometimes!.!.!. and my dentist is gone :( )!.!.!.
Then they will likely clean your teeth which involves scraping the plaque off and flossing and polishing!.!.!.
So that likely takes a totall of an hour or so by the time they actually do anything!. None of it really HURTS but the sounds, pressure and scraping are really quite annoying!.
As far as your retainer, they SHOULD take a mould that day and get it back to you in the next few days!. The sooner really is the better!. I think mine was about 2 weeks later, which was too long for me, but most people get it within 5 days or so!.
And just be warned your teeth will feel SOO loose and sensitive for the next few days since you're used to having them held and pulled on, so get some soft foods that don't take much chewing, Yeah, they pretty much feel like they're not in or broken or loose or something!.

that day you should get a mould made for your retainer and you SHOULD get it that day!. i had my mould done then waited in the office about 30-45 mins and got it right away!.
make sure you wear your retainer! if you dont, your teeth will jsut mvoe back to how they were!! and the lisp youll get will go away with time!.
also, after you get your top row off you might notice some yellow "stians" on your teeth!. dont freak out and dont go out and buy the most expensive whitening kit! the stains are just some of the glue that they didnt take off!.
just book an appt to see your dentist and theyll take all the glue off for you!. i did this, without the aid of a whitening system and my teeth are perfectly fine now!

No, it doesn't take long at all!. You will hear weird sounds like crunching and grinding but don't be scared because it doesn't hurt at all!. You will use your retainer as soon as they come off and keep it on 24-7 except when eating for two weeks!. After that, you only wear your retainer every night!Www@Answer-Health@Com
