Would getting 4 teeth pulled out change the structure - look of your face!

Question: Would getting 4 teeth pulled out change the structure - look of your face
I'm planning on getting braces and my dentist told me 4 teeth need to be extracted, I was wondering if it would change the bone structure of my face!? Like my jaw!? This is for metal braces, and a while a go i went to a visalign dentist, the lady told me, if i ever did get braces not to get 4 teeth pulled out!.
I don't know which one to believe, considering I am no dentist expert :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need a third opinion by an orthodontist--not a dentist that specializes in putting porcelains over your teeth!. If you don't want to get the third opinion- believe the orthodontist!.!.!.!.he is the true professional and went to school a lot more years than your regular dentist to do what he has to do with your teeth!. My both daughters had their "wisdom teeth" pulled prior to getting their braces-- a preventative measure to make sure that their teeth stay straight and are not pushed out of place if and when the wisdom teeth decide to come in!.!.!.!.some wisdom teeth actually grow in sideways, which you can understand why they are needed to be pulled!.!.!.as far as changing the shape of your face!?!? they are the farthest from the front molars on the top and bottom of your mouth--and in your upper jaw they "may" make you look more "gaunt" or have a thinner face!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter had two upper teeth extracted as a part of her orthodontic treatment and in her case, it did change the look of her face!. That was because she had an open bite and those teeth were extracted to help pull her upper front teeth down and back so she would be able to close her mouth properly!. In other words, what I'm saying is it depends on why those teeth are being extracted!. If it is due to overcrowding, pulling those teeth won't change your facial structure much!. In the case of my daughter, whose teeth weren't overcrowded but horribly misaligned, her face did look different after her treatment finished!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dentist knows more than the other person!. Pulling 4 teeth will only make your mouth nicer!. When the braces go on, you will have to go back and they readjust the alignment so all the teeth are in the proper space!. I had braces when I was in my 30's and my teeth a perfectly aligned!. The dentist will move the other teeth to the proper places, and you will be very happy afterward!. When you have them put on, the time will really go by fast!. Mine were on only 18 months!. The braces will not effect your jaws, it will avoid TMJ later in life!. So go for the braces and do everything the dentist tells you!. They also have special flossers while your braces are on!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Orthodontists (dentists who work with braces) have a *lot* more training and experience in these issues than a dentist who does Invisalign on the side!.

Having teeth pulled generally will not alter your face or your jaw!. In fact, it could save your face structure if your teeth are going to be crowded too much!.

You may want to visit another orthodontist or dentist to get another opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ive had 4 teeth pulled out on 2 occasions!. Once was for getting braces too, they were not adult teeth and needed to come out before putting them on!. The second time was my wisdom teeth, they needed to come out because they would mess up all the work my braces did!. Minus the initial swelling from the wisdom teeth removal, no it doesnt at all :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

well if your teeth are overcrowded then yeah you have to get teeth removed for them to look their best! Um no it wont make your bone structure look different or weird at all unles you have to get harps later that helps with the overbite but you can't notive a difference in face shape! I hope I helped :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dentists and Orthodontists usually know what they are doing but it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
