A question about cavities!

Question: A question about cavities
Here's my story:
I found out I had a hole in one of my molars in the middle of July!. I didn't worry too much about it because I thought I just had deep grooves in my molar!. Then today I found out the hole looked a bit deeper and it turned into a blackish-brownish color, now I am sure it is a cavity!. I'm 19 never had a cavity on my permanent teeth before and I take good care of my teeth my brushing and flossing, so I am quite surprised to find out I have a cavity!.

So here are my questions!.!.!.

-How fast do cavities usually develop!?

-How long will it take to turn into a serious cavity that have pain and reach into the dentin of the tooth!?

-I can't go to a dentist for a appointment until Oct!. 13 for a deep cleaning/checkup!. Is that too long to wait for them to take a look at my cavity and to fix it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
