Question: Root Canal Question Help PLEASE PLEASE
I can't drink cold drinks because I had a root canal on one of my back upper teeth and i looked on the inside and there was a dark line along the gum (inside) where the cap was put on!. Scraped, nothing came off and I think it might be a separation in between the cap and my gm!. Is this common!? I thought, though, that when you have a Root Canal they take the nerve out!. So why does it hurt anyway, if this is what it is!? There's no pain otherwiseWww@Answer-Health@Com

The dark line you see along the gum where the cap or crown(same thing) was put on is probably the metal the crown is made of!.Most crown's are made of metal with a porcelain overlay that matches your other teeth!.When you have a root canal they do remove all of the nerve,you may have an infection that will require an antibiotic to get rid of,or you could have another tooth that has a problem and the pain seems to come from that tooth, this is called referred pain!.If the pain continues for a couple more days go back to the dentist and have him or her check it out!.!.good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
they don't take the nerve out, that's why root canal hurts because the the nerve of the tooth is exposed, and gets infected (the canals) and they clean the canals out!.
I've had mine for a year nearly and there's always been a slight gap, if it's causing you real discomfort go to the dentists and see what they say, they know best after all!.

my dad has a cap and he's got quite a big gap between the cap and the gum, although he's had it for years so it mightve worsened over time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
there R other surrounding smaller nerves that may B sensitive 4 a few days, or sometimes, (rarely, up 2 a year ! The gum should soon grow back to fill in the gum line!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
