Question: Nail polish and toothache!?!?
I know this is a stupid question but my friend has a horrible toothache and she crying!.!.!.her mom told her to put nail polish on it!.!.!.is that even safe!? what can nail polish do to make a toothache feel better!? Is there something she can use to make it feel better until it is pulled tomorrow!? No orajel!.!.!.it isnt working for her!.!.!.thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

never heard of that!.!.!.I personally would not put nail polish in my mouth!.!.!. all the chemicals!.!.!.plus dont even want to know what it tastes like Yuck!. I'm pretty sure nailpolish says not to ingest!.!.!. As far as a tooth ache!.!.!.she could try an icepack on the outside of her jaw, will help with inflammation and maybe lessen the pain a little!. has she tried other topical pain relievers maybe a different brand would work better for her!. I also heard one time if you chew on a certain herb and hold it on the tooth!.!.!.maybe mint!.!.!.that it will help but I can't remember which herb it was!.!.!.!. She could also put some celery in the food processor and make a paste out of it and apply it!.!.!.Celery has some numbing agents in it!. Nail polish won't do anything but cause the infection to get worse and put a bad taste in her mouth!. A couple of things that help a little is to put some salt in some warm water and have her swish that around her mouth, it's not great but it helps a little!. Check the spice rack for cloves, biting a clove and putting it between the cheek and gum of the infected tooth is supposed to have some antiseptic properties, but I noticed it had a bit of a numbing effect, but again, not great, but it helps!. The only thing that really improved my tooth ache, before I had it removed, was the hydrocodone I was prescribed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think what her mom meant is that she should put clear nail polish on the cracks of the tooth (in the middle) as a temporary seal, to make sure no more bacteria or food destroyed the tooth further!. Then she needs to go to a dentist to get a filling or a permanent seal!. The nailpolish deal should only work for one day MAX!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try cloves hold in the moth should stop the pain also if theres whiskey or brandy in the house put some on her finger and rub on the gum where it hurts
