Answers:
The temporary filling is a putty-like material with soothing properties to help keep you more comfortable until you're able to have the root canal!. To make the putty, a powder and a liquid are mixed together and then (keeping your tooth as dry as possible) the putty is placed in the cavity!. Depending on the powder/liquid ratio and how dry the tooth was, the filling can fall out (which yours did), or last the entire one or two months!. It's very common for them to fall out, but it can cause you discomfort to have your tooth exposed this way!. If it should happen at nighttime or over the weekend when your dentist can't be reached, you can buy a temporary filling material at the drugstore that will work pretty much the same way!.
