I'm getting braces on thursday!. does it hurt having braces!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Getting them on doesn't hurt, as they are just glued on!.

Only the first 4 appointments or so caused me a little tenderness!.

I have a VERY low tolerance for pain, and I managed just fine :]!.

I actually kinda miss my braces :P!.

Getting them off hurts a bit, but not a lot!.!.!.because they are pulled off!.

Really, there is nothing to worry about :]!.

Hope I helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Initially, yes!. you're probably not used to the pressure on your teeth and so it will feel really weird having all this metal in your mouth!. but i've had mine on for almost 2 and a half years, i still hate adjustments! and here are some hints:
- take pain killers if you're in a lot of pain
- use listerine or mouthwash every day to reduce the swelling in your gums
- the best treat you can have is a bowl of soup (and put some chips in it to soften the hard edges of the chips)!. or try a smoothie with frozen raspberries (or just any frozen fruit, but raspberries are my favourite), ice cream, milk and custard!. soft foods are probably all you'll feel like anyway!.
- and don't grind your teeth!. things tend to break!.

good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it doesnt hurt when they put them on, but it majorly hurts for like 3-4 days afterward, including the day of th percedure!. take some pain medication if the pain is really bad!. i just got mine tightened today and they are really bothering me, just like every time you get yours tightened, but just try to concentrate on other things, that seems to help a lot!. good luck! hop they dont hurt too bad!. :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not going to lie to you, the first 2 weeks after getting braces i was in absolute agony!.

getting them on isn't painful at all, but then that night when ur sititng at home thats when the pain sinks in!.

i lived off icecream and stewed apple, and panadol, for about 2 weeks because i couldn't eat anything!. but then after that you'll be fine :)

good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am an adult with braces for about 3 mths now, getting them on doesnt hurt at all!. You teeth will be sore for about a week or so after getting them on!. The pain is nothing that tylenol/motrin cant handle!. Some people really exaggerate on this pain, its not that bad!. Yes, they can be a pain in the rear at times, but its all worth it at the end!.

good luck-Www@Answer-Health@Com

not really!. believe me, ppl exaggerate a lot more than how it really is!. ppl were telling me that they had to go days without eating and how their teeth hurt so much!. it's really not all that bad!. there is a little bit of pressure!. and it takes a bit getting used to, but it's not painful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It definitely doesn't hurt to get them on- yeah it's uncomfortable because they have to suck all the air out of your mouth but overall it doesn't hurt getting them on!.

It may ache for 1-3 days after but for me, drinking water actually numbed it a little!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the process of them being put on don't hurt, the first few days are quite pain full though, take a few paracetamol and you should be fine!. your gums will be sore, eat some bread with soup!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my dad had them when he was younger and he said the only part that really hurt was getting them tightened!. so dont worry about it you well be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

before you get them take like advil after you get them it doesn't hurtWww@Answer-Health@Com

no it doesnt when you get em but it starts huringing as soon as they start moving your teeth!Www@Answer-Health@Com
