Premolar extraction and braces?!

Question: Premolar extraction and braces!?
Hello,

I just had my consultation from an orthodontist today, and she told me that there was a 60% chance that I would have to get my top two premolars extracted!.

My dad was starting to freak out 'cause we both knew that once those babies were gone, they wouldn't be back!.

I was wondering for anyone that had the experience of removing 2 or 4 premolars for braces, is it worth it!?

I'm not so worried about how it would affect my appearance!. I have read that premolars are common to extract and that it will not affect facial structure at all!. What I am really worried about is how that would affect me in the future, after the gap has closed and after the braces have been removed!. Do you think it'll feel any different!? After all, I would be short a tooth on both sides!.

For you now, is it easier to chew food, is it the same!? Do you feel any different from before!?

Thanks for your answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes in most cases teeth have to be removed to make space and there is no way of getting around this and im pretty sure a second opinion will give you the same result!. There are no long term adverse effects of having these teeth removed and it does not affect you facial form, and chewing is not a problem at allWww@Answer-Health@Com
