As long as the dentist numbs your up there should be no pain during the procedure!. When there is decay, he/she will drill to remove all the decayed tooth!. Then they have to keep the tooth dry while filling it!. It would be best if he used the white filling material (also know as composite) which is resin based ceramic (plastic essentially!.) He apply some sort of etch just to microscopically rough up the tooth surface, rinses it, applies an adhesive and then proceeds to fill with the selected material!. You should not have any pain afterwards unless it was a really deep filling that hit the nerve!. The dentist would usually tell you if there is a chance of that!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
When the dentist rebuild the tooth, it does not hurt at all!. If the tooth loss is less then he builds it with filling material or he puts a pin and builds the tooth on that with filling material!. you can check more information at

They dentist will go in and remove the decay!. The assistant will go in and fill the tooth back up with a filling material!. NO big deal!. I do this everyday!. I am an expanded functions dental assistant so i fill and assist the Dr!. everyday!. The only part that might hurt you is when the Dr!. gets you numb!. After that your good to go!. You shouldn't have any pain after either!. their is a chance that you may be sensitive for awhile to hot and cold but you shouldn't feel pain!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
