Tooth Ache/tooth out?????!
Question: Tooth Ache/tooth out!?!?!?!?!?
Ok, I had a tooth taken out on tuesday and it had a hair line fracture in it or on it not sure, my dentist didn't leave any bits of the tooth in it came out in one go after a couple of turns, but prior to that, I had an abscess, for about a week and a half the dentist gave me some antibiotics twice on the run cos the infection was still there!.
Anyway she showed me that the tooth still had the abscess still been on the tooth but now am in so much pain with it I swill my mouth out a few times a day with salt water(warm) and the alcohol free mouth wash am on soft food and am still taking tablets to kill the pain!?
The left side of my face is still swollen but the swelling has gone down quite ab it but still is present, when I look inside my mouth the hole from where the tooth is there is like some stuff in the hole, like a jelly kind of patch were the tooth has been!.
I do rinse my mouth out after meals with the salt water and the mouth wash am I right in doing this or do I need to go back to the dentist!?
I haven't got any other teeth in that area as they have been taken out aswell, I don't know whether I should try getting abit of tissue and then trying to get that stuff out incase that is still causing the pain!?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call your dentist and get an emergency appointment!. On NO ACCOUNT try picking around the whole yourself as you could introduce infection into the bone or surrounding tissue!. do not try to remove anything out of the hole from your extraction,
it is most likely a blood clot and you need that blood clot in place to aid healing!.
If you are still in a lot of pain in the morning phone your dentist as it could be a dry socket which is a very painful inflammation of the gum!.

Its early days yet after an abcess, the swelling will take a while to go down!. Take Ibroprufen which is anti infllamatory!. Don't wash out with mouthwash only warm salty water!. The gunge in the hole is part of the healing process, leave it alone its there for a reason, it will gradually dry up!.

Yeah, clean your teeth(the ones you have left) Stop eating suger based food/drinks!. And stop taking drugs, drugs are teehth's biggest nightmare, and stop smoking too it don't help either!.!.!.

Sounds like a blood clot in the socket, which is normal!. It will take a while for it to heal, an abcess is a painful thing and the swelling and inflammation don't just disappear as soon as the tooth comes out!. Don't try to take anything out of the socket!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Keep it clean, but don't touch it!. Let it heal!. It will be tender for some time yet!.Your gums need to repair themselves!. The pain will go away soon!.

hi i had that when my tooth was taken out i did go back to the dentist who sucked it out i was told it the blood clotting and nothing to worry about as it would drop of a soon as the hole closes !. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Call the dentist and tell them your symptoms, you might have dry socket or something like that!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
ok , so say you had a big cut on your arm , woild you scrub at it to keep it clean or gentle bathe the area!? - hopefully gently bathe, so my point is !.!.!. when you swoosh the salty water around your mouth you could be dislodging any healed part, so try just gently holding the salty water in your mouth for a minute or two!. if you are still in alot of pain you may have dry socket, which is something only your dentist can fix so go back to him!.

I've had loads of teeth out and had infections so i know what u're going thru!. No matter how often u swill yr mouth out, there cld still be a bit of food stuck in the hole and thats whats causing the pain!. What i used to do was either try and get what looks like the jelly like thing out with a cotton bud and if that failed i wld use a tooth pick but obviously very very carefully to see if i cld pick it out!. If nothing comes out (its not food) then best to see yr dentist again!.
