What kind of glue do they use to glue on braces?!

Question: What kind of glue do they use to glue on braces!?
I just got braces and i keep feeling like the brackets on my braces will fall off when i eat or brush my teeth!.

What kind of glue do they use!? Is it strong enough to hold the brackets in place so that they will not fall out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
the glue they use is actually not even glue, but "cement"!.
no super glue or anything like it would be powerful enough to keep those little brackets on your constantly chomping and grinding teeth for over a year!
the cementis even made stronger when it is "cured" by a special light that activates it, so your brackets will stay on tight!.
it is pretty common for people who have braces to experience one or more brackets becoming loose or even becoming un-cemented during the time that they have their braces!.
when that happens, simply give your orthodontist a call and they will squeeze you into their schedule to get you fixed right up!
if it happens, it is better to get it fixed within a day or two max!.
it can be funny when brackets fall off, because they don't always fall out of your mouth!.
the bracket may come off of your tooth, but the little colored bands still hold the bracket onto the wire of your braces, so it just slides up and down the wire!
don't worry about it though, if it happens, it happens!.
the orthodontist won't scold you (unless it came off from eating sticky taffy and hard jawbreakers!) he/she has probably already fixed someone with the same problem that very day!
good luck with your braces, i hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not glue of any kind!. It is the same stuff used to do a white or composite filling!. The tooth is etched with phosphoric acid where the bracket is to be placed!. Then a little bonding agent is applied!. Then a little composite is put onto the tooth and the bracket is squished down into the composite!. It is cleaned a little and then it is cured, with the curing light (which is just normal white light, filtered to be more in the blue spectrum!.!.!.!.it is not a laser or ultraviolet)!.
Since composite bonds to enamel very, very well (and doesn't bond to dentin by the way, which is what makes it a lousy restorative material for posterior fillings), there is a very good bond of the bracket to the tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on the type of "glue" your orthodontist chooses-
The glue or cement bond is very strong -it meant to hold those brackets on for a long time!. It will come off your teeth but only when they remove your braces-sometimes they will have to polish it off with a tool since it sticks so well to your teeth!.
You will get used to your braces after a while it's quite hard to break those off-
Normal eating and brushing should not make them fall off-
In the case one does come loose the orthodontist should just replace it!. You'll get used to eating with them and next time you go in to the orthodontist, just ask them - they can give you the best answer and tell you how to care for your braces (what foods to avoid and so on)!.and!.!.!.if a bracket does come off they can glue it back on!.

I had braces for a couple years, none of my brackets ever fell off or got loose and my teeth look great now!.!.!.yours will too -SMILE :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The glue is unbelievably strong!. I had a bracket fall off once and I tried to superglue it back and it came off instantly!.!.!. so it's tons stronger than superglue is!. Eating and brushing your teeth should not make them come off!.!. just stay away from the things they tell you to (soda, hard candy, etc!.) If you're a gum addict, Freedent won't stick to them but should be used sparingly!. I couldn't live without my daily soda when I had braces so I started drinking through a straw and tried really hard to keep it off my brackets, and I never had another one come off after I started doing that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know what glue it is but they had to secure it with some ultraviolet light or something!.!.!.so no, they shouldn't pop off when you brush or eat!. My dentist said it's uncommon that they do, but if one does happen to come off it's not a problem, they will just reattach it for you!. He said it happens sometimes and it's not anything he did wrong or the patient did wrong, it just might happen!. But most likely it won't!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
