How to deal with a growing wisdom tooth?!

Question: How to deal with a growing wisdom tooth!?
I'm 16 and my four wisdom tooth have been growing!. The first two started growing at about december last year and the last two started growing shortly after than!. The first two are fully grown now and the ones growing are killing me!. I can't eat or even hardly open my mouth!. It hurts so much, and it feels like it has started to affect the top of my tongue, making it really difficult for me to swallow even my own saliva!. My mum bought me this mouthwash called corsodyl and I went to my dentist today and he said there was nothing he could do about it!. I had to let it grow and it could take up to 6 months! Will it be hurting for that long!? Is there anything else I can do!? Isn't it to early for my wisdom tooths to be growing!?

Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
wisdom teeth can start growing at any age after your hormones have started!. i've got half mine now and i'm almost 18!.

when wisdom teeth grow, they grow a small bit then sink back in to the gum ever so slightly and that's why they hurt so much when growing!.

the best thing to do is to get some Bonjella (sorry bout the spelling) or Sedagel from the chemist!. its for teething babies but is really great for wisdom teeth!.

they don't always need to be pulled out either!. if they are coming through straight and if there is enough oom in your jaw/mouth they are fine to grow!.

Good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's ridiculous!. It sounds to me like he doesn't want to deal with the tooth while it is still largely in the gum!.

He does make some sense, in that the removal process is much easier once the tooth is fully out of gum!. Extracting a tooth that is still impacted or partially impacted is tougher for the dentist (or oral surgeon) and probably much more painful for you!.

Ask him if that is the reason he is waiting!. Then, decide for yourself when you want to experience the pain! Www@Answer-Health@Com

the corsodyl is really good for infections but if it's just pressure pain you're getting it might not do much!.
If you're really in a lot of pain you can always ask your dentist about getting a referal to your local hospital to see if you can get them removed!. It might be an ott option but it'll defo' stop the pain lasting 6 months!.

Why on earth would your dentist tell you to let them grow!?!?!? Mine weren't even out of the gum and they dug them all out, told me that they never let anyone keep them and they always take them out as soon as they know someone has them!.!.!.

Go to another dentist, a sane one who will take them out!.

Best of luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

you need to go to a different dentist, because everyone usually has to have there wisdom teeth taken out, because there is not enough room for them to grow!.!.!. if you let them go, they will keep hurting and get really worse!.!.!.!.!. please see another dentistWww@Answer-Health@Com

yeah that's what happens!. i think mine are finished growing!.

like when u get crunchy stuff stuck in there and it rubs against your gums!. i freakin hate that!. and sometimes u think u got something in there but it's just your gums so just leave it!.

just deal with it!. we all have to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when the first ones stopped growing did they stop hurting!? is so wait until these stop growing and they may stop in the same way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok u can get gel from the chemist for mouth olsurs get that as it will numb your mouth, also lots of pain killers :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

See another Doctor, they should remove them immediatley to avoid impending danger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just get used to it and concentrate on work or fun!.!.if not then cry out loud!.!.it might help because it diverts your attention! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

that sucks mate, cut up some raw garlic into little bits and try and swallow a couple spoon fulls, its not nice but its a natural way that works wonders!. keep doing this and drink heaps of water!. you need to help your body fight this off if your doc wont help so help you body flush it out by not eating red meat cause it blokes you up for 3 days, get some laxitive and clear yourself out, stick to vegitables, good fish like salmon, trout and try and get some nuts in like almonds ect!.

I found that holding listorine or cold water in the area hurts alot for a brief moment but over rides the pain providing releaf so you can sleep, may work for you!.

good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes wisdom teeth will hurt off-and-on!. You can try taking Ibuprofen (talk to your mom about it), it may help easy the pain!. Mouthwashes are good to do, too!. Pain is a normal thing to feel when wisdom teeth are coming in!. Ibuprofen is my suggestion!. And just dealing with it!.

Just wait 'till you get them removed!. ;) You'll have to take mighty good care of them when you get them out, if you need to, and you may have a hard time opening your mouth very wide in the first week or two!. Really listen to your oral surgeon when you get them out, because if you don't follow the rules of care for your wisdom teeth procedure 1-3 weeks after removal, you can get them infected!. Just FYI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your dentist should be able to refer you to a specialist who are quite willing to put you to sleep and surgically remove the tooth from your jaw (those that are not fully grown out)!. The dentist should be able to remove the ones that are already out as well!.

I have two wisdom teeth and both are out of the gum but not far enough for the dentist to grip and pull out yet, the pain is unbelievable atleast one will ache every day and I usually get a headache at the same time! I have to wait atleast another 3 months before i can revisit my dentist to consider them being taken out!

I hope your dentist will take them out for you, otherwise change to a different dentist!.

Oh yeah, Bonjela is a good cream to rub on your gum it is used for teething infants - it has a somewhat numbing effect!. Antiseptic mouth washes will help prevent any infections from food and bacteria that is hard to clean from the back of your mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
