Question regarding wisdom tooth extraction?!
Question: Question regarding wisdom tooth extraction!?
Yesterday, my lower right wisdom tooth was removed!. I am on antibiotics, and pain medication, so I haven't noticed any complications!. However, I examined the area with my mirror and discovered that a large piece of gum is growing on top of the back molar!. I'm so concerned because I know food and bacteria can get trapped in that area!.
My question is, why is this happening!? Why has that flap formed!? I do not want to get angry with the dentist office, but I will be calling bright and early on Monday to find out why the gum flap has formed over my molar!.
I am hoping that someone can respond and let me know if this is normal!? I did have stitches, but the stitchess are more or less on the side of my gum and not in the back area!. I'm not sure why this is, but I guess he found it easier to cut the side gum since the wisdom tooth grew in sideways!?!?

After my procedure the office didn't make a second appointment!.!.but you'd think they would have since clearly the doctor knows what he did, and he SHOULD know that I can't have gum growing on my last molar tooth!.
I'm so annoyed and distressed!. More than likely I will have to come in and have the gum flap removed!.

When I got my wisdom teeth removed, the same thing happened to me!. When I went and spoke with the dentist, he said it was the normal healing process!. It's sorta like a scab, like the kind you get when you get a cut after it starts healing!. Don't pull it, or it will take longer to heal!. It will eventually heal or fall off on its own!.
