Hi, I got these put in yesterday!!

Are they the small blue rubber band looking things, or the metal rings!?

If they're the small rubber band type things- (might be plastic!.!. I can't really tell- I can hardly see them in my mouth!), they're to 'seperate' the back teeth!.

Are you going to be getting an expander of any sort!? They're used just before you get an expander put on, so that the 'metal' rings for the expander will fit without problems!.

you might notice over the next few days, that the distance between your molars (where they put the bands) is getting larger!. That means they're doing their job!
It even starts to work the night of getting them on!! (well with me, it did)!. Shouldn't hurt!. Mines not hurting at all (although the orthodontist told me it would be sore)!. Eat soft foods, DON'T FLOSS! (not until they take them out- otherwise they might come out, and you'll need to get them back in again)!. It might feel as though you've got a bit of meat stuck between your teeth or something lodged up there!. Dont' try and move them!. They need to stay in place until you get either braces or your expander rings fitted (for expanders, they're silver metal rings- which at the next appointment they'll take the blue spacers out, then try the metal 'rings' on for fit and then take those off, and put the spacers back in for another week while the expander is being made and then when you go back, you'll get the spacers out, and the expander fitted on and cemented to the roof of your mouth/teeth)!.

Don't worry about them!. I dont' really notice them at all!!!

Um!.!.!. If you're talking about little metal thingys that wrap around your tooth, and it's really smooth!.!.!. I have those!. I don't know what they are for, though!. lol!.!.!. It could have been the brace, though!. One might have fallen out, if this wasn't your first appointment!. If this was your first appointment, it could have been either!. I'd ask your orthadontist, if you're still not sure!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think they're called bands!. Not sure what they're for, I think they might be for moving your back teeth or something to do with your bite!.
Had them myself, no idea why though my ortho never did anything with them after!.

And yeah they hurt for a bit but it wears off after a few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes they are to keep your back teeth in place!. i had them on for 2 years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
