i didn't!. what is that!? well, i had spacers put in, these little plastic bits that they put in between my molars where they were gonna put the band on!.
it took a week (or two, i forget) and it hurt really bad at first but then after the teeth were spaced out they were just annoying because they would come out sometimesWww@Answer-Health@Com

My teeth were also crowded at the time, esp at the front, but I chose to remove a rear tooth instead of reshaping!. That way my teeth could adjust easily for the space!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
