Question: Wisdom teeth removal question!?
Okay so the doc!. left a message and said i can not wear flip flops tommorow and i have to wear a short sleeve shirt!. Why can't i wear flip flops!? I will be having 8 teeth removed tommorow!. 4 Of those will be my wisdom teeth!. I am only 16 if that matters!. Also they told us to be their at 2:30 so they can prep!.!.!.What do they have to do to prep me for surgery!? And how long do you think i will be knocked out for!? *Yes i will be put out to have this done* Thank you :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's really not that bad!.
they tell you to not wear flip flops because you may stumble, so wear sneakers so you wont trip so easily!. you're a little groggy after!. the short sleeved shirt is for the IV too!. when they prep you they just put heart monitors on, ask you questions, and get you set up!. the doctor will come in and talk to you!. i was put under as well, its no big deal it took 30 minutes from the time i was out to when i woke up!. (but that was just for wisdom teeth!.) i didn't need stitches at all!. everyone says its horrible, but it's honestly not bad at all!. so before they put the IV in they put laughing gas on, everything gets really hazy!. i got to the point where i didn't care from the drugs!. i remember them putting in the IV and just being like 'whatever i love needles' the nurse looked at me funny and was like 'you are the best patient ever'!. (needles don't bother me, but i dont love them!.!.!.) I don't even remember falling asleep!. i remember waking up!. my mom was in the room and she said i kept talking about nonsense, honestly i dont remember that at all!. I barely remember the ride home!. i went and watched borat, which i remember nothing of!. im warning you though, i had strange dreams, very weird!. they made no sense!. i had no pain at all, i took 0 pain pills, not a motrin or anything!. i went for a run the next morning!. i felt wonderful, i used to have headaches and such but now they're gone, supposedly they were an effect of the teeth moving!. the only part that was bad besides the dreams, was my jaw was sore, and the bleeding nonsense, my chin and cheeks were numb, i threw up that night because of the anesthesia, but that was all!. honestly though when i threw up i felt loads better!. and yes the only way they will put you to sleep is with the IV, and it's not bad because they dope you up on all this laughing gas!. people are like 'it was awful!' im like 'wat are you talking about, i was fine!'!. i went in and i said to the nurse 'put me under as far as possible!. laughing gas and every numbing drug you have, i want you to use it!' so just tell them what you want to do, eat soft foods for the first two days, be careful when brushing as well!. and the holes that stay after the the wounds heal!. i constantly got food stuck in them, like sprinkles from ice cream, chicken (biggest offender) and other tiny foods!. i had it done on a thursday, friday i took off from school, and i was back to school on monday!.

No flips or sandals- you will be woozy from the meds!. Short sleeves- so they can get to your arm easily for the IV and blood pressure cuff!.The length of the procedure depends on the doctor's speed!. I once worked for an oral surgeon who was so fast, he would have 4 non impacted wisdom teeth out in less than 10 minutes!.
The prep will be some paper work for your parents to take care of, making sure you have not eaten or drank anything in the last 6 hours and setting up the room and hooking you up to all the monitoring equipment, starting the IV and a making sure you and your parent understands the post op instructions!. You will wake up very soon after the IV is removed!. How long will you be out!?!? Depends on how fast the doc is!. Don't wear flip-flops for your own safety!. You never know what they might drop on you!. The short sleeve shirt is so that they can insert an IV!. There really isn't much prep, but they do have to make sure you are comfortable and get your mouth cranked open and all that!. How long you are out will depend on how stubborn your teeth are!. The IV will be for the anesthetic and they will monitor your level of awareness as it goes along!.

im not sure why you cant wear flip flops!.!. or a certain type of shirt for that matter!. i had 6 teeth taken out when i was in 5th grade and i dont remember them saying what i could and couldnt wear!. i dont really remember the prep (im 21 now) but i just remember them giving me the dosage to knock me out and they have you count backwards from 10 to 1 really slowly!.!. youll barely get to 7 if youre lucky!. when they give it to you, its weird!.!.!. almost like you havent slept for 2 days and you just cant keep your eyes open!. i tried my hardest to stay awake and it just puts you out!. im not sure how long itll take - its probably different for everyone!. i would say MINIMUM an hour!. when i woke up, i was strapped to a bed with a seatbelt (because you might be groggy, they dont want you falling off) and i had gauze in my mouth for any bleeding - i had barely any!.

When I had mine removed they prepped me by putting in an IV to give the medicine to put me asleep though!. This is probably what they are referring to!. You will also have to fill out paperwork (or your parent) in order to be put to sleep!. They will not want you to wear flip flops because you will be unstable after surgery because you are very groggy afterwards!. This could be why or maybe they want to make sure your feet stay warm since you do get cold while you are under!. If you're having sedation, you need to check to see if you can eat!. Usually they don't want the patient to eat 8 hours prior to surgery

They don't want you wearing flip flops so they don't have to keep track of your foot gear while you are "out"!.
Wearing short sleeves guarantees them ready access to your veins should the need arise!.
Prep time should take about 30 to 45 minutes!.
You will probably be out about 2 hours and recovering for about 2 hours!. They want to go home at 5PM so you should be done by then!.

They don't want you to wear flip flops cause you will be out of it by the time you are done and may not be able to walk in your flip flops !.!.!.!.they need you to wear a short sleeve to put an IV on you so short sleeves is easy access to veins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Idk about the flip flops, just wear sneakers be on the safe side!. They have to knock you out for surgery prep & numb everything and make sure that it's all good to go!. 8 teeth being removed means you will be out for a while!.

the flip flops has to do with you falling!.!.!.!.It should take less than an hour!. Short sleeves is for the IV sedation!. You will feel like crap for a good week and look like someone has taken a bat to your face!.!.!. Take your meds and you'll be okay!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
