I'm getting my Wisdom teeth removed this Friday?!

Question: I'm getting my Wisdom teeth removed this Friday!?
Will I loose my voice!?
Also I plan on working the night shift this Sunday ripping tickets at a movie theater!. Do you think I should take off that day on Sunday!?
I have a very high pain tolerance!.
Also what can I eat!? I assume non chewy things but for how many days!?
Also do I need to come back to get my stitches removed!? Also how can I make it so the stitches don't start to stink!? What can I put in my mouth to fix it!? Or should I brush the stitches to get rid of some of the old dried up blood!?

Please help and thanks for those who answered my questions about Wisdom teeth removal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No, you should not lose your voice!. Although you may not want to talk, depending on how much pain you are in!.

Don't bother taking off on Sunday - I got mine out on a Saturday and went to school on Monday and was fine!. Just a little sleepy from the painkillers (I have a low pain tolerance)!.

You should be eating things like pudding, jello, melted ice cream, and mashed potatoes!. After two or three days, you can try eating rice!. Be very careful when you do that!. I also cut up lettuce for salads very very small and drowned it in dressing so I wouldn't have to chew it!. I had to do this for two weeks, but everyone is different!.

I had my surgery a year ago, and I am just now getting to the point where I can chew normally again!. It takes a long time!. Mind you, you can still chew near there!. Just!.!.!.carefully!.

Do not brush near there until it's healed!. Do not forget to brush everywhere else, though!. Rinse with salt water, it helps with the smell and it acts as a mouthwash!. You won't need to get your stitches removed, the dissolve!.

Do not spit for several days, and it's going to be weeks before you'll be allowed to drink through a straw again!. If you do either of those, you risk getting dry socket - I know someone who had it, and they say it is very uncomfortable!. Best to avoid that!.

Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just from my personal experience!.!.!.

You won't lose your voice but your mouth will be swollen (if taken out surgically) and you won't be able to talk for a couple of days!.

I think you should take the day off

I ate mashed potato and puree for the first couple of days and after that started with solids again

hopefully they will use dissolving stitches so you don't need to worry about thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

You won't lose your voice!. By Sunday I would think you'd be feeling much better, so no!. You should stick to soft things like soup, mashed potatoes, ice cream, things of that nature!. The stitches that I had dissolved on their own so I didn't have to have them removed!. Your oral surgeon should tell you all of the specifics!. Don't be afraid to ask him/her questions!Www@Answer-Health@Com

u wont lose ur voice!. u should be ok sunday,i doubt u have a higher pain tolerance than me lol!. i ate about whatever and just flushed out the holes for about 3 weeks!.stitches will dissolve!. wont stink, keep them clean, again they will dissolve!.dont brush stitches Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just recently had my wisdom teeth removed!. Based off mine and my sister's experience I can tell you:
I don't think you will lose your voice!. You might not be talking at all because it hurts to move your cheeks!.
Even if you have a high pain tolerance you will most likely be sore still on Sunday!. I would recommend you do take that day off!. Not only that but if you do take the pain meds prescribed to you they will make you drowzy!. It will probably just be uncomfortable!. I have a high pain tolerance and I ended up having to use the pain meds prescribed to me for at least four days!. My stitches started coming out by day number 5!. My sister was actually in more pain than I was and she slept more often then I did!.
My doctor told me I could eat nothing but soft food for two weeks!. You have to be careful about what you eat because there might be holes where the wisdom teeth were and food might get stuck in them!.
The stitches they use will probably dissolve in your mouth!.
Do avoid using your tooth brush on the wounded area!. It will not feel good at all!. You should gargle with warm salt water multiple times daily as this will help heal, clean, and stop infection!.

The day of your surgery the nurse or doctor will explain everything to you!. It all sounds scary but really it wasn't so bad!. Truthfully, couldn't take soft food anymore after 6 days and would force myself to eat different foods!. I also stopped bleeding 3 hours after my surgery!.
I hope everything goes well with your surgery and you have a quick and painless (or as painless as possible) recovery!.
Oh and go for anesthesia if possible!. It makes the surgery better, in my opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you will not lose your voice!. Working on Sunday should not bother you!. You will more than likely be sensitive where the teeth were removed but no reason why you cannot carry on in your normal routine!. You can eat any food that does not require chewing like steak or pork chops etc!. Any soft food is fine, like sandwiches, salad, spaghetti any thing like that!. I don't remember going back to get stitches out, they may be the dissolving kind!. I suppose you could use a mouthwash if you were worried about the stitches!. No do not brush the stitches, that will only irritate them!. The dentist will answer all of these questions, he will Tell you if you have to come back for a check up or what foods to stay away from and how long!. You will be fine, really, it is not that big of a deal!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I took my wisdom teeth out
-I did not lose my voice, i just was not able to talk clearly because my face was swollen!.
-It's was a bit painful a couple of hours after I got my wisdom teeth removed, I just slept!.
- I went to work two days after I had them taken out and I was fine except the fact that my cheeks still looked puffy ( I looked like a chipmunk)!.
- I also have a high tolerance for pain, and did not want to eat anything the first two days because of the bleeding!.
- I had lots of soup, nothing with chicken chunks, just soft vegetables!. I had lots of apple sauce too!.before I would eat, i would take the gauze pads out, eat then replace the gauze pads with new ones!.
-I was not able to chew for about two days
-the stitches comes out itself, no need to go take them out!. gargle with warm water and salt, that should help with the smell!.
-try not to brush your stitches the first two days you might bleed!.
-when you go to sleep, make sure your head is slightly elevated, i dont know how many times i woke up in the middle of the night choking on my blood ( sorry if i grossed anyone out)!.
your face will swell down within a couple of days so don't worry, you''ll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister, who is 13, just got hers removed 3 weeks ago!. She also has a very high pain tolerance, so she relates to you!. When she came out of surgery, she was totally numb and out of it, so you wont have to worry about that!. To answer your questions:
1!. you will not loose your voice, no worries! :)

2!. you should most definitly take sunday off, because you will still be very exhausted and sore, even if you heal fast

3!. You should eat things like pudding, maceroni and cheese, apple sause, soup, and soft cereal and you will have to eat them for 4-8 days, depending on the speed of your healing, and NO STRAWS! those will cause dry sockets!

4!. Your stitches will be disolvable, so you will feel them falling out every once in a while, but nothing uncomfortable, but you will need to go back for a checkup to make sure everything went well!. the stitches wont stink because they are desolvable

5!. DO NOT BRUSH THE STICHES! you will develop dry sockets, which is one of the most painful thing that could happen in your mouth, so be careful!. Your doctor will breif you on dry sockets, and most of your questions here!.

GOOD LUCK! :)

ps!. DO NOT EAT BEFORE THE SURGERY! you are not allowed to, so I suggest eating a big dinner before the surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey!. I've had the procedure done when i was 13, and from experience, i'll try to answer your questions as best as i can!.

1) you won't lose your voice; but if you get them surgically removed, it WILL be quite painful to open your mouth wide enough to pronounce your words correctly!. lol!.

2) if you get them removed on friday, I would definitely take sunday off, even if it is just ripping tickets!. But since you have high pain tolerance, it totally depends on you and if you want to take that day off!. The surgeon/dentist should probably give you some type of pain reliever; mine did!. That should help you get through your job without too much pain!.

3) What can you eat!?!? Obviously soft foods!. Personally, I would drink smoothies or juices; I drank lots of Jamba Juice!. This also may sound funny, but try baby food!.!. lol;) i'm serious, though!. You'll understand when you're in pain!. It will be quite hard to open your mouth!.!.!. it's pretty painful!. This pain will last for about 3 weeks!.!.!. I thought I wouldn't be able to open my mouth ever again:)!. ahha I was wrong!.

4) It depends if you would have to come back for the stitches situation!. Some people get dissolvable stiches; I was one of those people!. If not, you will have to go back!. You'd probably have to come back after approximately a week anyway to have the dentist check up on your mouth:)!.

5) Still brush your teeth; just be cautious around the stitched up area!. It's hard, but try to avoid getting food in and around the stitching!. Your dentist/surgeon might give you an instrument to squirt water into to the hole where your tooth was!.!.!. (a little disgusting, but yes!. haha)

Hope I helped and good luck on your wisdom teeth removal!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're worrying for nothing!. It isn't that painful (the process) i wasn't under any gas or anything!. they just injected lots of numbing!. you should be fine if you can take pain!. i have a moderate pain tolerence and freak out with the sight of needles!. and if i did alright, you'll be okay!.

you'll probably have to take sunday off!. just take it easy for the first couple of days!. but it depends how bad it is i guess!. my advice would be to ice immediately when you get home to minimize swelling!. I iced it right after and i have little to no swelling!. I was webcaming with my friends that night with gauze in my mouth and they couldn't even tell! i drank jamba juice my first day and then soup the next!. you just have to avoid eating seeds because it'll get caught into your open wound!. the stitches dissolve in about two weeks so you don't have to worry!. the stitches will not stink!. you'll be brushing your teeth still so it's all good!. do not brush your stitches because you will rip them!.

the only thing that i found to be a nightmare about my wisdom teeth is the fact that I tasted blood for the first 3 or 4 days!. that was so gross!. i was constantly spitting it out!. have fun and goodluck! don't worry! it's not as bad as it is!. besides the blood drinking!. haha!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
