Will they put me to sleep to pull my wisdom teeth?!

Question: Will they put me to sleep to pull my wisdom teeth!?
I would prefer them to put me to sleep!. If your wisdom tooth is still under your gums, is there a need for it to come out if it is not bothering you!? Why pull it if it is not posing a problem!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Maybe!. It all depends on your past medical history!. You have to meet the criteria!. They will let you know if you can be put to sleep or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you go to an Oral Surgeon to have your wisdom teeth (3rd molars) extracted, which is what you do when they are impacted -under the gums) then they usually do use a General Anesthetic (put you to sleep)!. I believe they inject something through an IV line now!. When I had mine done I had to breathe a Gas!. But my doctor also gave me some Valium before my appointment so I wouldn't be apprehensive!. That helped a lot!. You may want to request some if it isn't offered!.

As for it not bothering you, Some dental professionals believe that it is better to take them out when you are young and before they erupt because there are several problems that can arise from waiting!.

1!. They can move/crowd the lower front teeth (causing you teeth to become crooked!.

2!. They can damage the teeth in front of them (If the tooth is coming in horizontally it can grow into the tooth that is next to it) I have seen this happen!. A good example would be a baby tooth!. When a baby tooth falls it is just a tiny little stub of a tooth with usually very little to no root left!. Well it had a root, it's root was desolved by the permanent tooth that was destined to replace it!. When a tooth pushes another tooth (in a certain way) it desolves the other tooth!. So it stands to reason that if a wisdom tooth was pushing on the root of a permanent tooth it would also desolve that root!.

3!. If you get them out when you are young you heal better, plus you have time to recover without possible missing work/school if it's during a holiday or break!.

4!. another reason to take them out when you are young is because If the root of the wisdom tooth reaches it's full length then sometimes it's harder to remove!. It also has a chance to get near some nerves on the lower jaw that can cause Paresthesis (i can't spell that very well) (it is a numbing sensation in the jaw that can take a very long time to go away)!.

Wisdom teeth do not serve a true purpose anymore!. We are not in the prehistoric days eating the same way we once were!. Just like your appendix, they really aren't needed!. But they are VERY difficult to keep completely clean (for those who have wisdom teeth in the mouth that are erupted) and when you don't keep them clean you end up with deep pockets of infection from poor hygiene and next comes the periodontal disease that spreads to the other teeth!.

Sometimes they teeth are positioned in a way that they may never have to come out (example if the upper molars are very high in the bone and do not seem to possible pose any threat to problems in the future)!.

As you can see I am a fan of having them removed at a young age!. Yes it does hurt some for recovery, but for some it's the best thing to do!. You'll never know if you will definetly have problems with them in the future, but why wait to find out!.

Also I can tell you that I see Decay (cavities) in them all the time, people just can't get back there to keep them clean!. So if you leave them alone and they end up erupting at some point in the future you may have issues with cavities!.

I hope this helped you

you would not really be sleep you will be conscious, but u will be totally out of it, the drugs they give you will make you feel very good, and it is possible that you may fall asleep because of the level of relaxasion you will be at!. but it is recommended to get your wisdom teef extracted!. because they might not hurt now but im the long run you might have problems!. and another reason is that the one(s) that has not came out the gum may be impacted (growing in crooked) and you dont want that cause it could cause problems with other teethWww@Answer-Health@Com

Im not sure why they do it or anything!.!.!. by one of my friends had their wisdom teeth pulled out and they were like, almost dead from the pain!. They dont put you to sleep, they inject a numming substance to hopefully make it less painfull!.
