Does this sound right? Infected gum over wisdom tooth...?!

Question: Does this sound right!? Infected gum over wisdom tooth!.!.!.!?
I went to the dentist a week and a half ago with an infection in the gum over an impacted wisdom tooth!. He gave me some mouth rinse to use and referred me to an oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth removed!. The rinse helped quite a bit, but my gum was still a bit swollen, although the pain and redness was much better!. Well I woke up Sunday with a painful sore on the same gum!. It's white with red around the edges!. It almost looks like a canker sore!. I went back today and he said "wow it looks worse, keep using the rinse" Shouldn't he have given me an antibiotic or something!? The oral surgeon can't see me for another week!. If you aren't running a fever and there isn't a lot of pus leaking out, no!. There is no need for a full round of antibiotics if it isn't infected down in the root!. You are using a topical antibiotic, basically!. The canker looking sore is probably b/c you bit the tissue and caused a painful ulceration!. Keep up with the rinse!. If it is Peridex aka chlorhexidine, it works best if you don't rinse within 30 minutes of using toothpaste b/c the rinse will bind to the toothpaste!. Either brush w/out toothpaste or wait 30 minutes then swish, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definately you have a infected gum over a impacted wisdom tooth!. As wisdom tooth is not getting space to come out, the skin over it gets infected due to repeated truma during chewing!. If you have severe pain then you can take some painkiller!. In such cases warm saline rinses really help!. For more information on wisdom tooth you can visit the following link
