Just relax and don't stress out about it!. It's nothing to worry about!. I really hate dental work, so getting a surgery in my mouth was no fun for me to think about either!. But I just had four of my wisdom teeth removed three weeks ago and I can tell you that it is not worth worrying about!.

They will give you a gas mask for oxygen and they also say they will give you some laughing gas!. Most of the time, the laughing gas will make you feel a bit light-headed and relaxed so you won't even notice if they put the IV in you!. For me, the laughing gas had no effect on me so I was completely conscious for the IV!. The surgeon put a rubber band around my arm so they could see the veins more clearly and it was a tiny pinch and the IV was injected!. It feels just like a small shot!. You will fall asleep in literally less than half a minute so you won't even get much of a chance to see anything!. The actual operation takes about 5-6 minutes per tooth!. And after they are finished, it will usually take you about 10 minutes to wake up!. But the whole thing really only feels like a minute!.

As long as you use general anesthesia, and take your painkillers on a tight schedule, and follow your doctor's instructions on post-operative care, you will be fine!. I also highly suggest getting them all taken care of at once!. You don't want to do one at a time!.

I never had any pain with the surgery, and no swelling!. The whole healing process went great for me!. So, don't worry about it!. Your stressing out is actually the hardest part of the procedure!. That's what will make you most uncomfortable!. But trust me, once you get into that chair and they put you on the IV, you won't even get a chance to worry about it!. You will fall asleep and a minute later, you're done and out of there!. Really!.

Good luck with your surgery and hope you have a smooth recovery =)

They can either knock you out or you can get a shot the shot is sort of painful so find a Dentist that will Knock you out
If you are awake you can feel the pull but it is not bad
the thing you have to careful of is how you take care of your mouth after the extraction!. you cannot smoke or use a straw or suck anything or you can cause a painful dry socket
If you follow the doctors orders you will be fine!.
When they did mine I did not even feel it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OMG I'm nervous too!

I am having mine out in about 3 weeks and I'm totally not looking forward to it!. I guess I could answer this better then!.!.!. but here is what the dental surgeon told me!.

I have my choice of pain meds!. I can just have my mouth frozen, which is what my husband opted for!. I can also get laughing gas, which is what I'm going to get!. He said I will still be awake but I won't feel anything and I will be super relaxed!. They can also put me in a general anesthetic but then they would have to get a machine to breath for me and the risks are higher!.

Afterwords you're mouth and jaw will be sore!. You won't be able to eat solid food!. And you'll have to clean out the holes were the tooth was before that space becomes filled again!.

The younger you are, the less chance of complications!. The older the higher chance!. My father had the worst possible thing happen to him!. His nerves we cut and he lost sensation in his mouth!. He had to learn to eat and talk again!. They also broke the connection between the sinuses so when he drank it came out his nose!.

REALLY look into the person who is doing it!. I picked a surgeon because I'm terrified and I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that he knows what he is doing!.

My boyfriend just got novocaine to numb it and they yanked it out!.
make sure they give you the iv first if you have problems with needles!.
when I went they gave me the novocaine first and It freaked me out and they wouldn't proceed!. it would have been fine if they'd given me the iv first because it makes you all dopey and then you won't care, but now I'm too scared to go back because that doctor was evil!. Do some research on your oral surgeon if you can!. Makes sure it's not some evil phoney!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had all four of mine done at once and they knocked me totally out!. You sit there, you fall asleep, you wake up a bit later and feel a bit woozy so you go home and lie down and veg on TV or a book or something!.

It really wasn't so bad, actually!. It didn't even particularly hurt, but you'll have medicine for that!. My face got a little swollen for maybe a day and then went down (use an icepack)!.

However if some stupid friend of yours tries to save you trouble by saying you can use teabags instead of gauze in your mouth - don't listen unless you really enjoy the flavor of really strong unsweetened tea!.

The biggest potential problem is if you don't react well with the medicine to relieve the pain!. But I would try to relax - it's so bad!. Lots of people get their wisdom teeth taken out and they all survived just fine!

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry,you won't feel anything!.
The worst thing is the needle to they use to knock you out with, and that is nothing!.
They said count to ten!.The next thing I knew I woke up and I asked when is the surgery!?
They said it was done, and handed me my four wisdom teeth in a little jar!.
Some discomfort afterwords from the gauze in my mouth, and the pain killers were really good for the pain!.
Someone has to drive you home because you will be a little delerious after the surgery!.
Just do it! don't fear it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Had mine done 2 weeks ago!. It was not as bad as I thought it would be!. They did not knock me out even though the teeth were VERY impacted!. Had 6 teeth out total!.
Worst part was afterward because I stayed swollen and sore for 1-1/2 weeks!. But again mine were very difficult!.
Just prepare to eat lots of soup and take it easy!. You will be fine and trust me you will be glad you had it done!.
BTW - Mine was so bad I had to go to the oral surgeon!. That was 2 weeks ago and I am having a burger and fries for supper right now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be scared!. I had all 4 of mine taken out at the same time and I was awake!. Yes, I was awake!. They gave me a couple of shots in my gums and some laughing gas and I was happy!. They basically use a small tool that looks like a mini crow-bar and they kinda bang/jerk them out!. But all you feel is pressure, no pain at all!. I would highly recommend that you bring an IPOD to listen to, because you do not want to hear the process!. I had mine done when I was 19, and I was terrified, but it wasn't bad at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, I would get them out asap!. The sooner you get them pull the less stress there is on you!.

They will put you to sleep for the procedure!. After, you will wake with cotton stuffed in your mouth!. They will give you pain killers!. You wont be able to eat solid food for about two weeks!. Make sure you don't drink out of a straw because the suction will cause more bleeding!.
It does hurt but its not that bad!. You will live!. But just like I said get it done asap!. I like to get things that I don't want or like to do out of the way so I'm worry free!. GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's ok!. If you go to the dentist, you'll be numb usually, and if you're at the hospital, they'll put you under!. (Not always, but that's the way they do it here!.)

The most important thing is to stay calm!.

After, they'll give you pain meds!. These sometimes make some people nauseous, so you may want to find something that will settle you stomach, just in case!.

It's not really bad as long as you take care of it!. (My mom was sick, and our dentist cut hers out anyway, and she ended up getting a really bad infection!.) Just make sure to keep it clean and you'll be fine!.

Best luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol dont worry im really nervous too i had to go last week but something came up so i cancelled, and now i wish i didnt because it made me more nervous!.!.!. but yea i think they just put something to make you numb, i hope they put you to sleep!. ull be in pain for a while but youll have pain killers and apperently it will be hard to eat and stuff!. the fear is worse than the actual dentistWww@Answer-Health@Com

My mom was a dental assistant for 27 years!. She's been around and knows alot!. So, the sooner you get the wisdom teet out it will hurt less and be easier for it to heal!. And yes they will give you somthing to knock out the pain during the surgery!. Plus the sooner you get your wisdom teeth out the less your teeth will shift around!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry i had all of mine taken out and i laughed when they did it!. well first they inject u with numb ness thingy fluid( wich doesnt hurt cuz they rub this thing on ur gums first then they do it) then they get this metal rod and like force ur teeth to move out of place then they get pliers and just reach pull and twist but hard but u dont feel anything but the doctors hand grounding into ur face and then b4 u know it theyre out Www@Answer-Health@Com

relax I've had it done they will maybe numb your gums when I had it done they put me to sleep and it will hurt a bit after numbing wears off but no more than getting other teeth pulled maybe a little more but its really not so bad it wasn't for me anyhow just take a deep breath relax and dont tense up ok you'll be fine

I had all 4 of mine done at the same time, they knock you out while they take them out, after wards you will swell up like a chipmunk, they give you pain pills but I couldn't swallow so I didn't take the meds, you put ice paks on your cheeks!. The pain wasn't so bad the only thing that bothered me the most was swallowing some blood which upset my stomach so I didn't each much the first week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll live through it!. The dentist will decide the best procedures to minimize the pain!. You'll have a happier mouth after it's done!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

they will numb your mouth!. some dentist offer laughing gas!. I had mine removed and it was no big deal and im scared to death of the dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In the next three years!? What!? Worry about getting hit by a bus tomorrow!. Jeez!.!.!.this better not be a legitimate question!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

An oral surgeon or your dentist can remove (extract) a wisdom tooth or teeth!. This is done in a dentist or surgeon's office!.You can also have done in a hospital if decide to have all removed at once!.or at risk for any complications!.If happen to have any infections your dentist will put you on some antibiotics to clear up the infection before this can be done for your safety!.Before your dentist or surgeon even starts any work what-so-ever He/ She will give you a local anesthetic this will numb area where tooth is to be removed!. Now on the other hand if you plan on getting all removed you may receive a general anesthetic this prevents pain in entire body!.This will make you sleepy and you will pass out (sleep)!. You will not be allowed to eat or drink after 10-12 pm the night before, depends on your doctor for time!.
For the removal the dentist will will open the gum where the tooth is resting and remove bone that may be over the tooth and any bone that may be attached to any tissues!. some teeth may be cut into pieces for easier removal!. After teeth are removed you may have some stitches in each spot that a tooth was removed!. Some will dissolve others may need to be removed by your dentist!. This will be up to your dentist Then there will be cotton placed into each socket to absorb blood your mouth will feel full but must keep this in place for the blood!.
Recovery will be short, depending on your healing progress!.You should recive pain killers for a few days from your dentist or surgeon!. You will feel numb for awhile after this so take caution not to bite yourself!.Dont lay flat keep head proped up relax after this and your dentist should give you instructions for needed after treatments plus dont suck threw any straws!.
