you should put on the retainer as soon as possible after you get your braces off!. when your dentist removes your braces, he takes the impression of your teeth and get the retainer made and give it to you!.
In normal circumstances, the retainers are required to worn full time (day & night) for few months and afterwards they have to be worn at night!. Intially you will have speech problems and you will have lot of saliva in you mouth but it will be ok within a day or two!. Wear your retainers as much as you possibly can!. Wear them when your braces come off!. I would say only take them out for eating and cleaning your teeth!. Because once they come off they can shift very easily!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
