getting braces does not hurt, you will have a little discomfort when they put in the spacers, the little rubber pieces that go inbetween your molar teeth, just take whatever you take for a headache, you can have your colors changed when you go for your monthly visits, my son loved having all the weird colors!. good luck again it does not hurt, just a little discomfort you will do great and think of the end result, a beautiful straight smile!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
If the braces is a self ligating system then it won't have coloured elasitcs although it can still be put on it slows down the treatment!. If its not self ligating then you will have the elastics!.

i think it depends if you paid for color!. i don't think i'm getting colors because they used tie wires on my brackets and my family isn't that rich!.

there are train tracks (coloured) and a retainer which you have afterwards (removable)
