Answers:
First, its Dental Hygienist, not Hygentist!.

In most states, you need an Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with an accredited Dental Hygiene program!. You will need to take a variety of courses, including the basic prereqs (algebra, statistics, english, psych) as well as prerequisite science courses, including Chemistry, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology!.

Most Hygiene programs are very competative!. I was one of only 40 students accepted to my program last year!. My school requires excellent grades (Anything below a B is unnacceptable to them) to be admitted, and once admitted, you are required to keep above a 73 average in ALL classes to stay in the program!.

Good Luck!. I have 9 months left before I graduate and start my career as a Dental Hygienist, and I LOVE it!. It is a fantastic field to be in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a bachelors degree from The Ohio State University!. There are 2 year colleges!. They all are very competitive!. Finding a job right now is difficult!. Good luck in what you decide!. It is a fun profession!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
